Best Oilers vs Stars SGP for Thursday

Leon Draisaitl Over 2.5 shots

Stuart Skinner Over 24.5 saves

Logan Stankoven Over 0.5 points

Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl has recorded three or more shots in nine of 12 playoff games, and he ranks second on the club in both shots (45) and attempts (83) this postseason. Additionally, the German center is the go-to shooter on the No. 1 power-play unit and paces the Oil in both metrics with the man advantage.

There’s also a win-win situation with Draisaitl. He avoids top-defense matchups as the No. 2 center behind Connor McDavid, and there’s also always the potential for him to benefit from a promotion to the top line alongside No. 97.

Additionally, I’m expecting the Dallas Stars to continue putting plenty of pucks on net after averaging 29.2 per game in Round 2 against Colorado. The Stars have the depth throughout the lineup to drive possession and pile up shots against Edmonton, and Oilers starter Stuart Skinner has a splash of statistical correction coming, too. His .881 postseason save percentage is way below his respectable .905 mark during the regular season.

The final leg turns to Stars rookie Logan Stankoven, who is perfectly positioned on the No. 1 line with Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson. Johnston and Robertson are the two highest-scoring forwards this postseason for Dallas, and Stankoven closed out Round 2 with three goals and an assist across the final four games against the Colorado Avalanche.

Stankoven remains on the fast track to be a reliable scorer with 57 points across 47 AHL games before his midseason promotion to Dallas, and he's earned the top-line gig alongside Johnston and Robertson.
