My analysis
Group A is going down the wire but we know we’ll see Germany and Switzerland in the next round.

The Germans have impressed through two games and there’s no reason to think that they’re going to let us down. Germany defeated Scotland 5-1 in the tournament's opening game. That lopsided result can be attributed to Scotland’s poor performance as much as Germany's dominant one.

The 2-0 win over a solid Hungary team is possibly a better barometer of where the Germans are and they never looked out of control as they won.

The Swiss were brilliant in their first game against Hungary but followed that up with a disappointing draw against Scotland. The Scots improved hugely from the Germany defeat but it exposed Switzerland's limitations.

Germany are -139 to win (implied probability of 58.2%) this game and that feels like a huge value. They’ve controlled the ball in both games, with 70 and 73% possession with plenty of chances. They’ve had 39 shots, 17 on target, and seven goals. They've allowed just four shots on target and the one goal they conceded was an own goal.

While the Swiss have some good players, they lack the genuine world-class talent to try and outplay the Germans. There’s always the risk that the Germans could settle for a draw, knowing it secures the top spot, but given how clinical they’ve been, that seems fanciful.

Germany are playing well in front of their home crowd and want to make a statement. Expect them to win.

My analysis
After an incredible performance against Scotland, which saw Florian Wirtz open the scoring, he regressed slightly against Hungary, with Jamal Musiala instead taking all the plaudits. The Bayer Leverkusen man has another chance to showcase his talent here against a Switzerland team that let Scotland take 12 shots against them last time out.

Wirtz scored 18 goals in all competitions for his club this season and came into this tournament in good form. He’s had a total of four shots through two games, with one going on target and finding the back of the net. He’s been popping up in dangerous positions and will continue to get chances, making the odds of a goal against the Swiss one worth targeting.
