In a back-and-forth Big 12 shootout, Trevone Boykin threw a pass that was tipped and caught by a diving Aaron Green in the back of the end zone on fourth-and-goal with 23 seconds left, giving No. 3 TCU a 55-52 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.

Boykin's winning pass from the 4-yard line was tipped by wide receiver Josh Doctson and Green came down with it.

Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes had completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to running back Justin Stockton with 5:55 remaining to give Texas Tech a 52-48 lead before TCU responded with its final drive.

Boykin had a big game, completing 34 of 54 passes for 485 yards and four touchdowns.

Doctson caught 18 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, setting a school record for receiving yards in a game.

TCU (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) finished with 750 yards and Texas Tech (3-1, 0-1) had 607.

Mahomes connected on 25 of 45 passes for 392 yards and two touchdowns. Texas Tech running back DeAndre Washington rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries.

Wide receiver Jakeem Grant was the Red Raiders' leading receiver with eight catches for 126 yards and one touchdown.

Boykin's third touchdown pass, in the final seconds of the second quarter, pushed TCU ahead 33-28 at halftime.

Boykin was 20 of 30 for 332 yards in the first half, and all three scoring tosses went to Doctson.

In the first 30 minutes, Doctson established a career high with 11 receptions (for 184 yards, three TDs).

The Red Raiders grabbed a 21-16 lead in the second quarter thanks to a drive-extending late hit. One play after the penalty on TCU, Grant pulled in a 44-yard score, the third consecutive drive ending in a touchdown for Texas Tech.

Texas Tech opened the game with a three-and-out but needed just 10 plays to score 14 points in the first quarter, both touchdowns courtesy of Washington, who ran 11 times for 107 yards in the first half.

Boykin was 12 of 14 passing for 180 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter.
