MIAMI -- Josh Richardson scored eight of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and Wayne Ellington scored 19 of his 20 points in the second quarter to lead the Miami Heat to a 104-93 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Richardson, in his third year in the NBA, put up just his fourth career game of 20 or more points. He was pivotal to the Heat's effort in the fourth quarter, scoring on a layup, a mid-range jumper and four free throws.

Ellington made 6 of 7 3-point tries in the second quarter, tying Brian Shaw for a franchise record. In 1992-93, Shaw made six 3-pointers in a quarter and 10 for the game.

The Heat also got 19 points and six assists from Goran Dragic and a double-double off the bench from Kelly Olynyk (10 points, 10 rebounds).

Atlanta was led by Kent Bazemore (20 points), Taurean Prince (20 points) and John Collins (14 points, 11 rebounds).

Miami (2-1) won its second consecutive game. Atlanta (1-3) lost its third game in a row.

Four technical fouls were assessed in the third quarter when Prince shoved Dragic. Atlanta's Dewayne Dedmon and Miami's Dion Waiters joined the fray with a few more shoves before things calmed down.

The first quarter was highly competitive with the Heat shooting 50 percent and taking a 26-23 lead. Miami made 4 of 9 3-pointers.

The Heat, thanks primarily to Ellington, had a big second quarter, shooting 61.9 percent overall and 64.3 percent on 3-pointers (9 of 14). Miami closed the first half leading 62-44.

However, Atlanta went on a 29-9 run to tie the score 77-77 with 10:56 left in the fourth quarter, setting up the final push by Miami.

NOTES: Hawks PG Dennis Schroder, who injured his left ankle on Sunday, sat out. Malcolm Delaney, a second-year pro, replaced Schroder, making just his third career start. Delaney scored 10 points. ... Atlanta was also without C Miles Plumlee (right quad), PF Ersan Ilyasova (left knee) and SF DeAndre Bembry (right wrist). ... Heat C Hassan Whiteside (bruised knee) missed his second consecutive game. ... Miami sent C A.J. Hammons to their G League affiliate in Sioux Falls. ... The Heat was the more rested team, having last played at home on Saturday night. Atlanta played at the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon before traveling to Miami. ... Atlanta's first five games this year are on the road while Phillips Arena goes through a $190 million renovation.
