Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees Box Score on Aug 18, 2018

Rookie Miguel Andujar homered, drove in three runs and fell a triple shy of the cycle as the New York Yankees recorded an 11-6 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Andujar became the fifth Yankee to reach 20 homers with one out in the fifth when he drove an 0-1 changeup from Sean Reid-Foley (0-2) into the left field seats to make it 8-0.

In the third, Andujar made it 5-0 with a two-run double to the fence in left-center field. Andujar added a single in the seventh and produced his seventh game with at least three hits.

Giancarlo Stanton homered again when he connected on Reid-Foley's 2-0 fastball, sending it into the Toronto bullpen beyond the left-center-field fence with two outs in the fourth. It was Stanton's 32nd homer and seventh in his last 12 games.

Stanton was later hit in the back by a 1-1 fastball from Luis Santos in the eighth. Stanton nodded, and Santos pointed to his chest to indicate the pitch was not intentional.

Didi Gregorius hit a two-run homer in the first inning and drove in New York's final run with a sacrifice fly as the Yankees beat the Blue Jays for the 11th time in 15 meetings.

Austin Romine hit a sacrifice fly in the second. The Yankees catcher had to leave the game in the sixth with an apparent head injury after getting hit by a foul ball off the mask.

Greg Bird hit an RBI groundout following a throwing error by second baseman Devon Travis one batter earlier in the third.

Bird drove in New York's ninth run by homering into the second deck in right field in the eighth off Santos. He became the ninth Yankee to reach double figures in homers.

Aaron Hicks drew a bases-loaded walk off Ryan Tepera for New York's 10th run.

In his second career start, Reid-Foley was tagged for eight runs (six earned) on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

The Blue Jays lost their third straight game and for the ninth time in 13 games.

Luis Severino (16-6) labored at times, allowing two runs on six hits in five-plus innings.

He was lifted after serving up an RBI single to Justin Smoak in the Jays' five-run sixth.
