A historic and thrilling major championship Sunday saw Bryson DeChambeau rally for his second U.S. Open title while Rory McIlroy suffered perhaps the worst defeat of his career.

McIlroy is taking the week off after the loss, while Scottie Scheffler is once again atop the Travelers Championship odds boards. I break down the golf odds, the favorites, and more for TPC River Highlands below.

Traveler Championship Wednesday odds update

Published 11:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 19.

Rory McIlroy officially withdrew from the field on Monday following last week's loss at the U.S. Open and as a result, the top of the odds board has opened up a bit.

Scottie Scheffler remains a short favorite between +350 and +400, but Xander Schauffele (now as short as +700), Collin Morikawa (+1,000), and Ludvig Aberg (+1,200) have all moved up a spot on the board thanks to Rory's absence.

Viktor Hovland and Patrick Cantlay are next on the board with odds as short as 18/1 after opening at +2,200 and +2,500, respectively, on Monday.

Traveler Championship odds and field analysis

Published 3:00 p.m. ET on Monday, June 17.

Scottie Scheffler was a historically-short favorite at Pinehurst last week but didn't meet the mark, finishing T41 in what is his worst result since the 2022 CJ Cup. The odds are hesitant to budge, however, with the World No. 1 still seeing prices ranging from +350 and +400 after this recent run of five wins in eight starts.

Here at the Travelers, Scottie's improved in each of his four career starts. He missed the cut in 2020, then finished T47 and T13 the two following years before a personal-best T4 a season ago.

Running second on the board is Rory McIlroy, who enters the week after maybe the worst loss of his career. Rory did well to snag a two-shot lead with a few holes to play on Sunday but missed two shorts putts down the stretch to essentially hand the trophy back to Bryson DeChambeau.

With all five career finishes here falling between T7 and T19, Rory's clearly comfortable here, but while his odds are in the short +750 to +800 range, this week has all the makings of a massive emotional letdown.

Xander Schauffele is the third option on the board with very similar odds in the +800 range. The World No. 3 has continued to play well following his first major win, finishing T8 at the Memorial and T7 at Pinehurst last week. In addition to being in excellent form, Xander also won the 2022 Travelers behind back-to-back rounds of 63 on Thursday and Friday.

Collin Morikawa is fourth on the board despite no good finishes here at the Travelers in his career. He is in great form, however, with three Top 5s and a T14 over his last four starts. Ludvig Aberg rounds out the Top 5 at 16/1 after a T5 finish at the Memorial and a T12 at the U.S. Open in which he held the 36-hole lead.
