Elias Lindholm is proving to be a solid midseason addition for the Vancouver Canucks, and our NHL betting picks like him to find the score sheet vs. the Edmonton Oilers tonight.

The Edmonton Oilers are one loss away from being eliminated as the Vancouver Canucks enter Game 6 tonight with a 3-2 series lead and have the Oilers questioning themselves with just eight goals over the last three games and Stuart Skinner getting the start.

In my Canucks vs. Oilers NHL picks, I’ll look into why Vancouver can have success offensively in a pair of Over bets, and then do the unthinkable and hit the Under in the Connor McDavid odds.

These are my three best NHL props and Canucks vs. Oilers predictions for Saturday, May 18.

Today’s Canucks vs Oilers prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Good things come in threes

The Edmonton Oilers have questions in net tonight. Stuart Skinner will be the likely starter as he was the first goalie off the ice today. He lost the starting job after posting a 4.40 GAA and a sub-.800 save percentage across the series’ first three games. I don’t know how much you can trust him as he is not a goalie who can rely heavily on experience.

The Vancouver Canucks scored at least three in each of the three games vs. Skinner in the series, including three with the man advantage and nine at even strength. Vancouver can hit this Over in a few ways, but most importantly, they can do it at 5-on-5 where they have the depth advantage.

I like the Canucks on the moneyline at +165, but this is the more probable winner.

Prop bet #2: McDavid denied

A few rumors are spreading around the interwebs that Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman might not be fully healthy. Of course, it’s tough to fully lean into sketchy sources, but the duo has combined for just a single point over the last three games.

That is wild and J.T. Miller, Arturs Silovs, and the Canucks need some recognition even if the two skaters aren’t at full health. This is the first elimination game of the series and considering every game so far has been decided by a single goal, another close one should be expected tonight.

I’d expect fewer penalties in the game, which takes away the strength of the Oilers - their power play. Miller has done a good job slowing down McDavid at 5-on-5 and even without the last change, Vancouver held No. 97 to just a single point in Games 3 and 4 in Edmonton.

I’d rather take McDavid’s Under shots on goal when he's in Vancouver, as that home scorekeeper tends to be very stingy in terms of counting stats, but his Under 1.5 points is +125 tonight and it's something I like.

I’ve never played this Under but if he isn’t at full health and this game is played a lot tighter, Edmonton might not even hit the three-goal mark tonight. This prop is always taxed to the Over and considering the health rumors coupled with the recent lack of production, tonight is the night I fade McJesus.

Connor McDavid prop: Under 1.5 points (+125 at BET99)

Prop bet #3: Center holds his own

Vancouver fans were likely happy to see Elias Pettersson hit the scoresheet in Game 5 and get the second star of the game. He’s playing with Elias Lindholm and Nils Hoglander at 5-on-5 and that line isn't likely to see the toughest matchups.

Pettersson is -135 for a point, but I’ll take his center at +105. Lindholm has as many points as Brock Boeser in the series, which is impressive. He has four points over the last three games and has contributed on the power play with a pair of goals in Game 3 in Edmonton.

Skinner could flop hard tonight and this Over point prop pairs well with the Vancouver team total Over. The center is also getting more ice time this series and is averaging more than a minute per game compared to the Round 1 series vs. the Preds.

Elias Lindholm prop: Over 0.5 points (+105 at BET99)
