After a horrendous start to the season, the Edmonton Oilers (-400) have done a complete 180 and are in the midst of a 16-game win streak. Connor McDavid has been on fire and he has his team back into the playoff race. Sticking in the Pacific Division, the Vancouver Canucks (-1,600) have won eight of 10 and hold the top spot over Vegas.

The Washington Capitals did their best to tread water for the first quarter of the season, but a four-game skid has them tied for second last in the Metro Division, and their odds NOT to make the playoffs are now sitting at -1,000. Another team that's hit a rut is the Los Angeles Kings, who looked like the best team in the league to start the year before a horrendous stretch that led to the firing of their head coach.

NHL Playoffs 2024 Format
The Stanley Cup Playoffs feature 16 teams, including eight from each conference. The playoffs consist of four rounds of best-of-seven series in which teams must win four games to advance.
The top three teams from each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. The remaining teams compete among the other teams in their conference for wild card positions, of which there are two in the East and two in the West.
The top team in each division faces the two wild card teams in the first round, while the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds play divisional matchups. With eight teams advancing to the second round, the bracket continues until the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Champions meet in the Stanley Cup Final.

• The Buffalo Sabres are in the midst of the NHL's longest postseason drought. The franchise hasn't appeared in the playoffs since 2011.
• The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs are tied for the most consecutive playoffs made, with each team making it seven years in a row.

The Boston Bruins are cruising through the campaign and a massive collapse would have to happen for the Maple Leafs and Lightning to catch up.
To win Metropolitan Division
The Rangers started the season white hot, but a recent slide followed by a big run from Carolina has them teams neck-and-neck both on the odds board and standings. At this point it looks unlikely New Jersey overcomes a 14-point deficit.
To win Central Division
The Central Division came down to the wire last year, but that was mostly in part due to Colorado's slow start. With this team healthy and more motivated than ever, the +160 price tag for the Avs to win the division makes a tad more sense. Although the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets are keeping things close as we go through February.
To win Pacific Division
The Pacific Division is arguably the toughest one to win in the NHL, and it's currently the Canucks who are favored to win the honors. However, the Oilers 16-game win streak has them closer than anyone could have imagined.
