The Green Wave should be nicknamed the “Green Speedsters” because these young men play fast with the rock. They don’t beat themselves with turnovers like Wichita State does; the 14.4 points per game Tulane scores from turnovers could end up 20 or more behind a raucous Friday night crowd cheering on high-scoring seniors like Kevin Cross and Jaylen Forbes and a program that hasn’t had much luck.
That luck should change tonight; the visitors are 2-8 as the away team, 1-8 over their last nine road affairs, and could be in danger of being run out of Devlin Fieldhouse. The Shockers don’t cover the spread either; Wichita State is 3-6-1 ATS as the away team.
Tulane hasn’t won much anywhere, but they are 10-6 at home, and playing on senior night boasting the 18th-best scoring offense with two of the conference's Top-5 scorers should give them an edge over a better-than-average Shockers stop unit.
The Green Wave has sometimes struggled to rebound the basketball on their defensive end. Still, Wichita State is ninth in the conference in offensive rebounding percentage, and if Tulane can hold its own on the boards, it will cover the spread.
Finally, Tulane’s offense is hot, and playing at home on senior night gives them a nice edge. Their faster tempo will cause the Shockers to cough up the ball, and this Green Wave program gets buckets from turnovers. They’ve had a hard season, but they can gain some confidence going into the tourney, and I expect Tulane not only to win but also to cover the number.

Wichita State vs Tulane spread and Over/Under analysis
Friday’s tilt opened Tulane -2.5 (-110) at all the major US sportsbooks, and while money came in on Tulane, it caused us to see -3 (-110) at Caesars.
I love Tulane and like the line move to -3 (-110) at Caesars, which made me grab the -2.5 (-110) while it was still available. Tulane is 7-8-0 ATS as the home team, and while that doesn’t lend much confidence in the Green Wave, Wichita State is just 3-6-1 ATS as the visitors and the Devlin Fieldhouse faithful will make life shockingly difficult for the Shockers.
The Over opened 154.5 (-115), which is the best number as of writing, with most books trading 155 (-110), with BetMGM hanging 155.5 (-110). The lack of early movement suggests the number will probably remain where it is, but 156 wouldn’t be a surprise either.
