My analysis
Sitting fifth overall in the WNBA standings, Las Vegas Aces are looking to become the fifth team to hit double digit wins on the season.
 
They’re doing it with a relentless offense, which scores 87.7 points per contest, second only to the New York Liberty.
 
The Aces have been even more potent of late, scoring 94 or more points in three of their last four wins, including a 95-83 W over the Chicago Sky last time out.
 
Are they merely outscoring their problems? It’s a case you can make, since Vegas is Bottom 5 in scoring defense, allowing 84.5 points per game, and letting opponents cook from distance, giving up a league-worst 38.4% rate.
 
It’s something the Washington Mystics might be able to take advantage of, since they’ve levelled up after a brutal dozen games to start the year.
 
Over the last six games, Washington is putting up 88.5 points per game, a sample that would rank above what the Liberty are scoring in the top spot. That’s a monster jump from the 74.4 it posted in its winless start.
 
They’re also shooting 47% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc, crushing the 40.8% and 32.9% prior splits.
 
If they can score, they should be able to hang with the Aces. It will be their first of three meetings this season, but Washington has been a betting darling in this head-to-head.
 
The Mystics are a stellar 5-1-0 against the spread in the last six meetings, and they’ve been the betting underdog in every contest. They’re also 10-6-1 ATS on the season, which isn’t the mark of a team that should be in last place.
 
Vegas should win, but it’s only won by double digits twice in its last eight.

Who better to take advantage of that shoddy Aces 3-point D than the player who’s second in WNBA accuracy in Stefanie Dolson, hitting at a 47.6% clip on nearly five attempts per game?
 
The books left her line at a gettable 1.5 makes — a figure she’s crossed in five of her last six contests. In fact, Dolson has gone back-to-back games with four 3-point makes, including a 4-for-7 mark against the Connecticut Sun last time out.
