Corey Perry netted his 400th NHL goal as the Tampa Bay Lightning won for the ninth straight time on home ice over the Edmonton Oilers in a 5-3 victory on Wednesday night.

After drawing a tripping penalty, Perry scored on the power play by deflecting a shot by Mikhail Sergachev (two assists) for his 14th goal of the season and a 4-1 lead at 15:24 of the second.

Perry became the 103rd player to achieve the milestone and the ninth active player to reach the mark.

Pat Maroon recorded a goal and a helper, Steven Stamkos netted his 24th and Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov tallied for Tampa Bay, which is 13-1-2 in its past 16 games at home and has won five straight overall against Edmonton.

Winning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy (27-8-4) stopped 27 shots.

Connor McDavid scored twice and Zach Hyman hit the net in his fifth straight game and added an assist. Leon Draisaitl produced three helpers. Mike Smith made 18 saves in the Oilers' second consecutive loss.

Recently moved to center on the third line, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins skated in his 700th NHL game.

The Oilers fell to 5-2-0 under new coach Jay Woodcroft and have not won in Tampa since Dec. 9, 2009, when they beat then-Lightning goalie Smith in a 3-2 win.

In their first time playing in eight days and first on home ice in 22 days, Tampa Bay went ahead when Anthony Cirelli led a quick break and slid a pass over to Maroon.

Maroon put a shot on Smith, and the rebound caromed in off the skate of the Oilers' Devin Shore for a 1-0 lead at 11:57.

But after Stamkos went off for interfering with McDavid, Edmonton's superstar made the Lightning pay on the power play -- blistering home the tying goal at 18:10.

However, the Lightning captain redeemed himself by sending a shot that went off William Lagesson's stick and over Smith and in with 15 seconds left in the first.

Shortly after drawing a penalty in the second, Point cleaned up a rebound on the delayed penalty and pushed in his 19th goal at 10:48 for a 3-1 advantage.

Following Perry's historic goal, Hyman cut it to 4-2 on a stretch pass from Draisaitl, roofing home a backhander.

McDavid's 28th goal made it 4-3 midway through the third, but Kucherov's steal and empty-netter with 3.6 seconds left sealed the win.
