Brayden Point notched the game-deciding tally in a shootout to go along with a goal and an assist in regulation as the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning rebounded with a 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

Jason Robertson led off the shootout with a goal for Dallas, but rookie Ross Colton matched it for Tampa Bay.

After Joe Pavelski was stuffed by Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy, Point sped in during the bottom of the second round and beat Dallas rookie Jake Oettinger for a 2-1 lead. Vasilevskiy sealed it by denying Alexander Radulov's backhanded attempt.

Down 3-1 with a little over two minutes remaining, the Stars scored twice with an extra skater on in place of Oettinger to force extra time.

Earning points in their 11th straight regular-season game (8-0-3) against Dallas, the Lightning got markers from Mathieu Joseph and Steven Stamkos.

Owning shutouts in both of his previous starts against Dallas this season -- plus one in the series-clinching Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sept. 28 -- Vasilevskiy (18-3-1) made 24 saves to win his ninth straight game overall and move to 8-0-3 in his career against Dallas.

Miro Heiskanen and Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist apiece for the Stars, who are 3-1-3 in their past seven games. Radulov scored while Pavelski and Robertson each registered two assists.

Oettinger allowed three goals on 36 shots.

The Lightning were aggressive in the opening period -- putting up 19 shots to just six for Dallas -- and only Oettinger's standout play limited Tampa Bay to a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Point started the scoring at 3:55 of the first when took a perfectly placed, lengthy pass from Ondrej Palat and slid a slick backhander under Oettinger for his 11th tally.

Dallas finally netted one when Heiskanen cleaned up a rebound on the doorstep at 9:05 of the second period for his first power-play goal since his rookie campaign in 2018-19.

Joseph took a pass from Pat Maroon and ripped in his seventh tally from the low slot at 14:20 of the second for a 2-1 Lightning lead.

Stamkos ripped his team-leading 14th goal on the man advantage at 11:49 in the third, with Victor Hedman picking up an assist for his 500th career point. But Benn and Radulov scored 41 seconds apart with Oettinger on the bench and the extra skater, tying the game at 3.
