David McCormack finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds as No. 23 Kansas overcame its recent swoon and crushed visiting Kansas State 74-51 at Lawrence, Kan.

Kansas (12-6, 6-4 Big 12) easily secured its 15th consecutive home win in the series and 12th in the last 13 meetings overall, while claiming its 200th victory in a series that began in 1907.

The Jayhawks rediscovered the offensive punch that had been missing during a five-game stretch that included four setbacks and solved what little resistance the young Wildcats mustered.

Kansas used an 18-3 run to go up 56-32 midway through the second half. During that spree, Kansas State went without a field goal for almost seven minutes.

Christian Braun added 18 points for the Jayhawks, while Ochai Agbaji chipped in 15 points and Jalen Wilson had 10.

After toying with different combinations in recent games, coach Bill Self restored his standard lineup for the Jayhawks, who were ranked for a record 231st consecutive week but are teetering near the bottom of the polls.

Kansas State (5-14, 1-9) lost its ninth straight and could not get its top scorer, Nijel Pack, untracked after a 26-point performance Saturday against Texas A&M. Pack went 4-for-10 from the field but still shared team-high scoring honors with Mike McGuirl with 10 points.

The Wildcats shot just 34 percent while forcing just six turnovers in their first game since athletic director Gene Taylor indicated it was Kansas State's "intention" to retain ninth-year coach Bruce Weber.

Agbaji and McCormack scored 10 points apiece in the first half to help build a 33-25 halftime lead for the Jayhawks, though they failed to expand on a 9-0 start.

The Wildcats missed their first six 3-pointers, but a trey from Pack with 2:26 left cut the margin to 29-24. McGuirl scored all 10 of his points in the first half but missed 2 of 3 free throws after getting fouled on a 3-point attempt just before the buzzer.

Kansas State played without leading rebounder DaJuan Gordon, who is dealing with a foot injury.
