LOS ANGELES -- All five Los Angeles starters scored in double digits Tuesday night as the Clippers improved to 3-0 on the season with a 102-84 win over the Utah Jazz.
Blake Griffin had 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting to go with nine rebounds and six assists. Patrick Beverley added 19 points, making 7 of 13 field-goal tries, and Austin Rivers, making his first start of the young season, added 16 points. DeAndre Jordan had 11 points and 18 rebounds, and Danilo Gallinari added 14 points.
Rookie Donovan Mitchell led Utah (2-2) with 19 points, 15 of them coming in the final quarter. Rudy Gobert scored 12 points, nine of them in the third quarter when the Clippers held the Jazz to 13 points. Thabo Sefolosha had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Clippers led by just a point at halftime after a lackluster second quarter that saw the Jazz go on a 13-4 run.
The Clippers reasserted themselves in the third quarter with a 9-0 run in the first two minutes. Rivers scored on a 10-foot floater, Gallinari scored on a drive through the lane, Beverley hit a 3-pointer and Jordan picked up a loose ball for a dunk in the first two minutes to push the lead to 51-41.
Gobert scored for Utah, but the Clippers launched another 9-0 run, Griffin leading the charge with a turn-around jumper and a dunk in transition to make it a 60-43 game midway through the quarter.
The Clippers led by as much as 21 before Mitchell, who missed six of his first seven 3-point attempts, got as hot as the L.A. weather, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers as part of a 13-point explosion that cut the Clippers' lead to six.
Los Angeles responded with a 12-2 run to put the game away.
NOTES: Tests on G Milos Teodosic were negative for any tear in his left foot, which he injured in the Clippers' win over Phoenix. He has a plantar fascia injury and will be out an indefinite period. "It's not a tear, just a strain," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "But whatever he did, he did it well, which is why he's out indefinitely." Jawun Evans or Sindarius Thornwell will step in as the fourth guard in the team's rotation. Thornwell played four minutes Tuesday, while Evans didn't get off the bench. ... Utah F Joe Ingles started despite struggling with intestinal distress earlier in the day. He scored three points. ... Jazz G Rodney Hood (lower leg strain) and G Dante Exum (shoulder) were sidelined Tuesday.
