Georgia and Seton Hall meet tonight in the second of two NIT semifinals and Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. 

Seton Hall got here with a blowout win over UNLV. The Pirates took control early and won by 23 points. The win continued a solid run to end the season, giving them their fifth win in six games.

Head coach Mike White has probably maximized his talent with this Georgia team. The Bulldogs' March Madness bracket run has been much more competitive. They got here via a two-point, close-fought win against Ohio State.

This game has the potential to be ugly, as both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Seton Hall Pirates sit in the bottom half of college basketball in shot selection. Each is due for some offensive and overall regression.

Both teams were expected to cover at least three fewer games based on the quality of shots they had this season. Each of these defenses should do an excellent job of taking the primary option away from the other. Therefore, my best bet is Under 145.5, which is available at Pinnacle.

This season, Georgia's offense has primarily been built around straight-line drives and players scoring regularly in isolation situations. Its best iso scorer this season is easily Noah Tomasson, and some of the best proof of its team being built around isolation scoring is what happens when he struggles. Tomasson scored single-digits five times in conference play, and Georgia won only one of those games. The bad thing for this Bulldogs team is that Seton Hall's strength is shutting down isolation scoring. 

The Pirates have been sensational against isolation sets this season. It's the strength of their defense, and they've held opponents to .64 points per possession in these spots. For this reason, expect the offense to take a lot of work to come by for Georgia. 

Seton Hall has been offensively challenged overall this season (74th in adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom), and that's mostly the crux of this handicap. The UNLV game was an outlier, but there's a reason why its first two games of the NIT went Under. What's been a powerful aspect of the Pirates offense when it wants to be is utilizing Jaden Bediako as a pick-and-roll roller. They are the nation's most efficient offense when doing this. While Georgia has been susceptible to this defensively, I don't think Seton Hall will lean on it enough to make a difference in the total. 

I like a low-scoring affair here. It's a high-stakes game with two teams being one game away from the NIT Championship, and each of these defenses can take away what the other does well.

The crux of this handicap is Seton Hall limiting the isolation opportunities in a big way that gets this game Under. That directly follows the thinking on what I'm pairing our best bet with to make tonight's same-game parlay.

The critical aspect of that was Thomasson being slowed down immensely. This is a bit of a repeat of my best bet, as it's highly correlated. However, Thomasson has relied on simple 1-on-1 straight-line drives this season, and Seton Hall doesn't allow them.

• There's been one-way action towards Seton Hall since it opened, and the spread has settled at around -4.5. Our handicap certainly leans in this direction, but there's no value with our projections saying a spread of -5 for this matchup.
• These two teams have met twice in school history. Both games went under, and the two schools split the games, with Seton Hall covering as a favorite once and Georgia covering as a favorite once.
• The Under has been profitable for each school during their NIT Tournament run over the last three games. Combined, the total went Under four of the previous six games in that period.
