Maybe Pickett works out , but I think if he plays this year he'll cost them at least 3-5 games from what Trubisky would've gave them ...
Should have rolled with Trubiaky , seen what he has , and then drafted a ab next year if necessary...

Steelers never leave the Eastern time zone in their away games in 2022. They have one Thursday night game, one Monday night game, and one Saturday (xmas eve) night game but that being said, it is not what I would call an easy schedule.
Aside from the usual suspects in the AFC North, they face the Bills, Bucs, Patriots, and Colts. The over/under win total for them is 7.5 and there are a lot of question marks for this squad...QB, Oline, Dline, corners.
In this age of high octane offenses, their inability to put the ball in the end zone is worrisome.

By the way, I would not worry too much about Pittsburgh. I really think they will do a tad better NOT having to rely on Big Ben. The other pieces are there if they can just have decent QB play without him flat-out losing the game.
People do not realize how good the Steelers have been historically when they are at home or when they are underdogs. They will be fine.
Since 2003 they are 207-119, second only to New England. 116-47 at home. 49-49 when underdog, second only to New England, which was 27-26. Third place was New Orleans at 48-69.
Pittsburgh does fine when they are underdogs.
ATS they were forever a great team at home. But since 2003 they are 5th, covering 54% of the time.
As an underdog since 2003 they are 1st at 60-35 — covering at 63.2%! New England is 32-20 at 61.5% and no one else is near 60%.
I know just winning and covering are two very different things when it is your team. But Steelers are money at home and money as an underdog.
They are tremendous money at home ATS as underdogs. They are 17-4 for 81% in that situation! New England is 6-3 at 67% for a distant second in that situation.
I have known this trend since before Big Ben — certainly Big Ben and Brady helped these two teams during that time.
I know each season and each game is its own set of criteria.
However, I think the Steelers will be fine with Tomlin. The history backs me up on this.

Steeler Nation has the Steelers going to the Superbowl with the rook QB as the starter...
They've made a lot of changes in the off season...see how they all jell together. Historically Pitts has played well as the dog...lots of question marks this season.

I still contend the Pickett pick was wrong for them at the time and that he is not a franchise guy and should hold the clipboard for a year or so.

Time will tell. He could be w a half decent line and an O cord that should be coaching HS

Yes. But that was my whole point when they drafted him. They did not need him -- he was not Andrew Luck.
They had a lot of other needs and now that is showing even more.
When you have to say a QB could be better and couch it with a lot of IFs -- then that is NOT the QB you needed.

I gotcha. But I think only a QB like Lamar could thrive in the current environment.
