The bears would be stupid not to draft williams he has to be the highest rated qb since Luck. The ears have always effed up their qb picks and the best qb they ever drafted was harbaugh and that was almost 40 yrs ago and Harbaugh had a mediocre career.

No you don't. Fields has a better qbr than Troy Aikman had in 11 years. And Fields is still learning/improving. Now tell me how the Cowboys won 3 SB's.They won 3 SB’s because he didn’t need to be biggest star, he wanted to win. 1. Justin Fields probably wants to win. 2. Why I use the Aikman comparison is because the Bears have an opportunity to build their team through the draft, similarly to the Cowboys after they fleeced the Vikings with the Herschel Walker trade. 3. My opinion here. The "experts", the "scouts", and all the "pundits" are overwhelming wrong about the QB position when it pertains to drafting em, year after year. It's mind boggling how many top ranked qb's coming out of college are busts. And the list is long. The list goes back far in the history of the sport. No one knew Mahomes would be this good. No one saw Purdy coming. No one even cared who Tom Brady was. Now we have these same experts saying that Caleb Williams is the next Mahomes and such. I have to go contrarian on this one.
I don’t disagree with you in terms of what Bears should do. I was just saying Aikman was perfect fit for that Dallas team. Curious as to who you think they should target if they trade back?

@Biscuiteater1 they still have 9th overall and 3rd most cap space in the league...so they won't go backwards if Caleb is a bust..they will just be looking for another new qb...which half the league is every year If they trade 1 and fields doesn't get better they are in a very similar situation...looking for a qb
Seems to me that haul they could receive for #1 is a bird in the hand and the TEAM will be better off even if the qb's are not.

Ya the haul sets them up for the future...double trade back even better...especially if they don't like williams and want to give fields 1-2 more seasons

nah the bears are the same team that passed on watson and mahomes and chose trubisky with the 2nd pick in 2017. bears are the same team that traded away their number 1 overall draft pick last year along with their number 9 and 61st pick and also their first round pick of 2024 and 2nd round pick of 2025 for d.j. moore when they could have drafted c.j. stroud wtf!!! so no bears cannot afford to fk up and let another blue chip perhaps generational qb get away something they havent had ever.

The best wr and center in college. 2 positions where the Bears are lacking.
Eventually they will need a free safety, whether in the draft or free agency. I'd prefer a younger guy who is hungry. They all ready took the first step by letting Eddie Jackson go. He was the secondary's weak link. The dude never showed up on tape last year, and not much at all the year before.
Then it's just a game of stacking depth and talent. A young edge rusher to compliment Montez Sweat would be ideal.
Shit, take a late round qb like Sam Hartman or Brady Cook and see what happens in practice. Have a guy who can push Fields if need be.
Also, if they acquire future picks(they should) for 2025 and 2026, you look at the qb position then if need be.

I think you got that wrong buddy. The Bears got a wealth of riches from Carolina. All they gave up was the #1 pick.
Also, yes the Bears are the same team year after year. Just like any other team. The logo and city doesn't change. Although this will be GM Ryan Pace's 3rd year as GM. Pay attention to what he's done since taking over.

Great view on this situation ..trade down 2 or 3 picks and Grab Harrison ..Very Best Player barnone in THIS Draft Class..All Pro for ten years like Daddy
Caleb Williams is a Knucklehead..
KEEP Fields..play your cards right..gonna be Really Tough in.that Division no matter what with Lions AND Packers...Play it safe and accrue Talent..da Bears are gonna Need it no matter what they Do...
I see Caleb as another cocky Rookie primadonna
Penix and JJ McCarthy will have much better NFL careers..just my 2 cents..
Pack, you should be very happy with where GB is at..

I wouldn't bet on Fields to Pittsburgh at - $ IMO zero chance RW ends up with the Steelers... First they do not need another prima donna issue they have been fighting that with the wr's.. Secondly they have not completely moved off Pickett just yet want someone to compete with him for the starting job.. If RW comes he ain't coming in to compete for the starting job he is the starter from day one or he is not signing.. Fields on the other hand.... For me draft Jordan Travis in the 3rd round and lets go compete..
Could knock me over with a feather.... Here we go ...let Russ cook...

The ones who hold Fields in such high regards are eternal optimists and enjoy the sizzle instead of the steak. Russell Wilson could be the reason that future QBs are drafted and developed versus traded for. Denver trading for Russell and Carolina trading up to get Bryce Young could change the way teams view QBs for a while. Develop the quarterback you want instead of a ready made disaster.

Both Pitt and Atlanta are out of the Fields Market.. who is left? All other QB needy teams will be drafting QB’s… No one wants Fields. He is not worth it as a 4th year starter on a new team. Bears have a declining asset.
