I have an idea....why don't we let the boys play more than 2 weeks before we make such obvious observations? Wow....Utah St and Bo Nix.....sure let's just crown UGA and Bama now......cmonnnn mannnnnn......

@beermugs
If Bryce Young goes down will Bama make it?
Just as their hurt receivers cost them the championship last year.
Injuries and mistakes happen in football.
although Bama and GA are clearly the best in week one, anything can happen.

Over reactions...its only Week 1!
I am sure there was a BAMA gonna win it all/go undefeated thread last year after week 1 or 2 and I guarantee you, there was a Georgia cannot win with Bennett OR 'the midget' as some referred to him
Wait until the shirt gets tight around the collar/// and as a former high level athlete with 2 national championships , I know you have to climb through both great teams/opponents and motivated middling teams or opponents... mostly importantly, how you prepare and work with your coaches/teammates to get better is extremely important. Its usually the team with the best players put together who does NOT win if their motivation and more importantly, heart, focus and execution are just not there and your opponent exposes you....
I am going to copy that opening thread and pull it out later in the end of the season before bowls or during in the right moment
Its a good debate but again, only Week 1

You watched the game, that's exactly what they were last year and still are. Georgia is Utah on steroids, it's not taking away from UGA it's calling it what it is for Oregon. What people in the media or "experts" think never means shit, for the last 6 months everyone was assuming Florida would get steamrolled by Utah and kentucky, now they all think kentucky has no chance and now Florida is overrated and overvalued over night.. Georgia did about what Bama did to Miami when they were ranked too high in the same venue and game last year, and after that game if anyone told you that Bama would lose to A&M after they needed a miracle to escape a lifeless offensiveless colorado team, then was like 3-2 coming into the bama game.. everyone would have laughed in your face. Oregon looked exactly as soft up front as they did last year, absolutely no match for an SEC team with a roster like that.. If UGA keeps doing that to SEC teams then it's a different story as the season progresses

They should just expand the NFL with Alabama and Georgia and pay those kids NFL union wages and let the rest of college football have some hope.

Anyone who watched the Georgia game know their defense was not as dominant as the score made it out to be...I believe they had no 3 and outs in the 1st half..Oregon move the ball on their 1st 4 possessions but Bo Nix killed everything and it snowballed from there and got out of hand and I think Oregon gave up a little.....Even Georgia's offense...Bennett made some Houdini plays and could have been sacked 3-4 times...It was Georgia's day...
Oregon's offense 1st half got inside the Georgia 30..Inside the 20....and inside the 25 on 3 drives ....and only got 3 points out of it...2 other drives got it to midfield...this is all in the 1st half... Bo Nix's 2 INTs' killed them...

USC ranked #11 is a Joke..They are not that good....QB is good but that's about it... I expect 3-4 losses from this season...Stanford might win this week as well..

USC will have to go undefeated and hope other conference champions have a bad loss...Oregon and Utah did the conference no favors last week....USC is not going undefeated...They beat RICE and people talking playoffs..

USC got steamed by Utah last year from sheer physicality, if something drastic didn't change from USC last year it's gonna be rough again and this year it's on the road.. I didn't watch USC play the first game but the problems they had can't be salvaged this quickly, maybe offensively but that's expected because they have talent there.

Ever hear of this thing called game plan and scheme? Anyone who watched that game knows the defense played mostly zone and kept everything in front of them; Nix only attempted 6 whole passes 10 yards or deeper (and one of those was an INT). Plenty of youth on defense so UGA spent most of the game in a base zone (only 12 blitzes) not giving up explosive plays (Oregon only had 3 plays longer than 15 yards and only 1 longer than 20). Young LBs missed some tackles which is to be expected in their first real test. UGA did a lot of the same last year; make teams grind out a drive giving up small chunks of yardage underneath, but the longer a drive goes, the greater a chance for a negative play.
Side note: It's also the formula to beat UGA; you have to beat the scheme and have a WR who can separate deep in the secondary. '19 LSU and '20 Bama had the guys that could do that. UGA likely won't see a team in the regular season with that type of player, maybe Tillman at Tennessee.
As for the offense, Bennett had one play that could (probably should) have been a sack. But that also shows his maturity; 2 short years ago he throws the ball in terrible spots when under pressure resulting in turnovers. 25-31 against Oregon and 2 of them were throw aways under pressure. His adjusted completion % was a gaudy 92.9%, 0% turnover worthy plays, and a team success rate when passing of 70.6% (maybe the highest of the Todd Monken era). Fantastic offensive gameplan, Oregon's strength is their ILBs and Monken spent a fair amount of the day making them chase sideline to sideline.

Relax bud...When u see a score as lopsided as the the score was and the accolades Georgia is getting you would think it was from utter domination....The 1st half was more about Oregon choking on the offensive side of the ball....Once again..If you watched the 1st half..Georgia's D was no where as good as last year's D. Oregon has really Nobody on the offensive side of the ball that scares anyone...and they moved the ball pretty consistently....What could have been if not for Bo Nix's 2 killer INT's...Instead of a 28 -3 half time...more like a 21-13 halftime game...

So you did not in fact watch the game? Got it… if you don’t know ball just tell me and I’ll be happy to help. You can save your trolling for elsewhere. Let’s go through Oregon’s “offense” in the first half. They’ve got just as many 4* receivers as UGA and all of their OL back. You’re going to get UO in a good “buy low” spot for a week or two because of this and it’s not because they’re not a good team.
1st drive: 8 plays, 33yds, punt
2nd drive: 22yd gained, freak interception, certainly not on Bo Nix
3rd drive: decent drive just past mid field, non-existent horse collar penalty is what gets UO deep in UGA territory. Bad INT by Nix
Now it’s 21-0 so the game plan is going out the window.
4th drive: more yards underneath, pretty well executed drive by Nix, another non-existent unnecessary roughness penalty gets UO in the red-zone where they falter and end up with only 3.
2nd half was even cleaner by UGA and starters played most of the 3rd Q.

Trask also did it to them with multiple guys in '20 down the field, Grimes, Pitts(before he got hurt) Shorter and the TE's kept getting by them that day. You have to be able to stretch them and have an accurate Qb to beat them.

HEY....
Take a look at the Texas - Alabama score
Texas dominated the game! Bama was life and death to get the win on a last minute field goal!
Bama looked ordinary, or should we say, Texas made Bama look ordinary and especially vs Bama's O-line! Even Bama's defense was swiss cheese vs a rookie starter and a 2nd stringer, after the rookie went down in the first half
Threads like this are pointless in the first half of the season.....can we agree now?

Let me see if I got your logic straight here.If a team has 1 good game at the beginning of the season,we shouldn't judge on that. But if a team has 1 bad game early in the season,we should judge on that?

@MrWhatsItToYa
Interesting question you pose....the thread is about Bama and Georgia so I was judging the normal yearly status quo of those two for the first 4-5 games
You almost never, see Bama score fewer points BEFORE they get to conference play. That is really, the caution here on calling them great with a Heisman QB. And why did they abandon the RB tosses to the wings which was working? Gibbs was very effective. It got the Texas lineman and backers scattering the field and might have opened up things for them later along with using the run game more, even if they only got a few yards.
So, my comments are for BAMA and ironically, we use to say that about Georgia right? Now its Bama's play calling coming into question. Also, when was a Texas defense this EFFECTIVE early on in the season? ...and against an SEC team?
Lets see if its an over reaction after playing this week, because ULM is not gonna provide them with any resistance, although they can score
