This is a great post.  First, about DMs.

But saying Covers is the Craigslist of betting sums it up in a sentence better than anyone could.  Greatest example possible.

Sorry, let me think about it.  But this doesnt address the obvious issues of the forum that everyone knows exist, and why Covers doesnt do anything to keep the forum going with the times.  It is obvious.  I dont need to say it for it to be true.  And there isnt a "UX Researcher" or "Product Manager" who doesnt know that this is a conscious decision by covers to not invest in the forum.  There is nothing I could tell them that they dont already know.

I questioned in the post about NFL picks yesterday that Covers doesn't care about the forum, so why should I?  Flynt and Superbeets responded, and asked what I meant.  Here is the short version of why it is so difficult to post at Covers in 2025.

I have been here for close to 30 years.  Back in the late 90's, the forum tech was largely the same it is now.  Very few updates while watching every other platform move ahead.  

* Cant post pictures or videos
* Cant post tables or data
* Search function is unusable
* Many times, type out a long post to hit submit and something goes wrong losing it all
* Limit on characters, dont know the limit until you hit submit
* No notifications
* No audio or video live interaction
* No "chat room" functionality

Covers is still analog when the rest of the world is digital.  Covers has done nothing to invest in the tech.  Covers buries the forum and is hard to find.  Covers doesn't care about the forum.

No money grab here.  Dont need a money grab.  I am not for sale.

They just make it so hard to use, and interact.  They need to evolve.  But I assume the forum isn't a profit generator, so we are stuck with 1999 tech.

I cant post a data table, pic, or even insult my haters with a meme.

Just to clarify a few things...

I am not going to be posting picks like I have done for decades here. For a lot of reasons. Not the least of which that it just isnt fun for me anymore, and I post for fun. But for other reasons also....  It doesnt make sense to post games on Sunday mornings at current lines - it doesnt represent what I do or what you should do.  It is a parlor trick.  Yes, I have been profitable for 7 out of the last 8 seasons (last season was the loser), but it doesnt make sense.

I am not selling anything. I have never sold anything, or even taken affiliate money.

The trolls definitely have a part of this decision also.  It takes away the fun.

I post more on twitter these days. I would love to post here more - but Covers hasnt evolved their tech and dont care about the forums - so why should I?  Sad after 25 years, but true.

I wish you guys GL the rest of the season. I am always around to discuss things.
