It's amazing to go through this thread and see people that have been outright banned and never returned or people that have left and never came back. This thread is in the Top Three here in my opinion. |

Not the news I was expecting. When I first started posting on this website here the two people I spoke with more than anyone else was Apache and Goose. Those two ALWAYS gave me straight answers and always had kind and uplifting words to share. There is a saying that states you can identify the measure of a man by how he treats those that can do nothing for him, well those two men really pushed that saying into space because I only knew them here and obviously never met them to be able to help in any way.
Just the kind words they'd share and the fact they always had time to answer a question I might have meant more to me at the time than anything, those moments will always be remembered. |

The saddest thing is that whoever hits this automatically loses 37% in taxes. You'll never receive that amount back in goods and services from the Government in your entire life. They assume no liability in loss when you buy the ticket, but collect when you do? I hope the person that hits this lives in a state where they don't withhold any taxes. (California, Florida, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming) |

When living in Los Angeles, California I had the opportunity to visit here MANY times. I miss this place. They were one of the tracks to have a one-turn mile.

I was just thinking back about an event that happened on the 2nd of August three years ago in 2022. On that date we lost the INCOMPARABLE Mr. Vin Scully. The Dodgers won the World Series the year I was born (1965) and at the age of ten when first being introduced to baseball through a Hot Stove Little League team in Alliance, Ohio I learned that they accomplished that feat and they became my favorite team. Ironically, they also won the World Series in 1988 the year my one and only son was born. Moving to Las Vegas Nevada in 1999 allowed me to watch the Dodgers every night as they were part of the Cox Cable package of channels you could get here at the time.
Those twenty-three years have long since passed from first moving to Las Vegas, Nevada to today. The memories of the summer days giving way to the sunsets, getting home from work and grabbing beers from the fridge as I made my way to the patio outside, I'd turn on the television luckily just in time to hear those "five magical words" from the voice of summer telling us "It's Time for Dodger Baseball" If you have ever had the chance to live here on the west coast, and enjoy sports you know what Mr. Scully meant to that city, and even the baseball fans around the United States that were lucky enough to catch the Dodgers after the start of the MLB network when they would be on late night in the eastern part of the US. Orel Hershiser and Joe Davis do the best they can, they just have such big shoes to fill. Thanks for reading. |

I've known a few people and they all described it as pretty hellish. Hey Stu...What I've learned is this, if you ever have chicken pox once they go away you think you are cured. It stays inside your body and later morphs into Shingles after you reach middle age. That's some REAL crazy stuff! |

Midnight 1 said "I received my scheduled delivery list for Friday morning & Fred's name wasn't on my list. I called to see why & learned he passed away. They are not allowed to give any other details regarding his passing". This to me is one of the BIGGEST ass kickers in our life that we have to deal with. You go have dinner with friends/companions/associates and there have been times within just hours you get that call that someone has passed, or sometimes it could be over a course of days. I know it's cliche or sometimes a worn-out sentence, we have to appreciate EVERY moment with someone and make as many GREAT memories as you can while you have time to share together |
