Mystics vs Aces Predictions, Picks, & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

The Las Vegas Aces have won five consecutive WNBA matchups and are a large favorite to win tonight when they welcome the Washington Mystics to the Michelob Ultra Arena.

Washington has significant injury concerns heading into this clash, and my Mystics vs. Aces predictions don't expect them to put up enough points to get this Over.

My analysis
The Las Vegas Aces are beginning to hit their stride. After a rough start to their season, the Aces have won five consecutive games, including an 88-77 away victory over the Washington Mystics.

Aces guard Chelsea Gray is mostly responsible for their recent success. Gray returned five games ago from a season-long absence, and Las Vegas looks like a new team. They missed her scoring, passing, and leadership skills, but what they missed most was her defense.

The Mystics are coming off a solid away victory against Los Angeles but are dealing with several injuries. They’ve won three of their past five and should have beaten Las Vegas last week, but they blew an 11-point lead and could not close out Las Vegas.   

Washington has injury concerns that will impact this matchup. It'll be without big-scoring guard Brittney Sykes and center Shakira Austin. Karlie Samuelson has been out, and center Stefanie Dolson has been scoring like crazy, but she’s been added to the Washington injury report and is a GTD.

Those are big losses to deal with, and Las Vegas is the wrong team to play with four of your Top 5 scorers out. Vegas has allowed 77 points per game across its last five and has surrendered fewer than 77 in three of its last four. 

The Aces meet a banged-up Mystics group playing well despite the injuries, and Washington will struggle to score against a Vegas side allowing 77 ppg with Gray in the lineup. The Mystics will attempt to slow this one down to a snail's pace, which should limit the Aces' possessions enough for this game to end Under the number.

Despite the injuries, Washington is 9-1-0 ATS across its past 10 and 7-3-1 ATS against the Top 5 WNBA teams. Meanwhile, Vegas is just 4-6-0 ATS at home.

Wilson shot 4-for-15 from the field with 11 points in their previous meeting, but she should have a field day without Austin and a limited Dolson. Wilson has scored 27+ in 12 of her 19 games and should clear that number tonight against a weakened Mystics interior defense.
