Jared McCann netted his first career hat trick, scoring twice in Seattle's six-goal first period, and the Kraken went on to defeat the host Chicago Blackhawks 8-5 on Saturday night.

The Kraken won their franchise-record eighth game in a row and completed a 7-0-0 road swing -- the first time in NHL history a team won seven consecutive games on a single trip.

Rookie Matty Beniers and Oliver Bjorkstrand each added a goal and an assist and Daniel Sprong, Andre Burakovsky and Eeli Tolvanen also scored for the Kraken. Goaltender Martin Jones made 22 saves.

Jonathan Toews, Isaak Phillips, Max Domi, Taylor Raddysh and Patrick Kane scored for Chicago, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The Kraken scored on six of their first seven shots, knocking out starting Chicago goalie Petr Mrazek.

Sprong opened the scoring at 2:50 on a two-on-one rush.

Toews tied the score at 4:40, but the Kraken then tallied five times in a span of 3:41 to pull away.

Beniers broke the tie at 9:30 on a wrist shot from just inside the blue line and put the puck past a screened Mrazek.

McCann scored on a two-on-one rush at 10:46, snapping a wrister inside the far post from the right faceoff dot.

Burakovsky ended Mrazek's night at 12:08 of the first. Mrazek allowed four goals on five shots.

The Kraken then scored on their first two attempts against Mrazek's replacement, Alex Stalock.

Tolvanen slipped a shot between Stalock's pads at 12:45 of the first and, after a Chicago timeout, McCann scored at 13:11 on a wrister from the top of the right faceoff circle that also beat Stalock through the five-hole.

Phillips scored his first NHL goal midway through the second period and Domi scored on the power play 51 seconds into the third to pull Chicago within 6-3.

McCann completed his hat trick on a wrister from the top right of the faceoff circle at 1:54 of the third and Bjorkstrand tallied 43 seconds later.

Raddysh scored on the power play at 16:50 and Kane tallied at 19:45 to cap the scoring.
