Tyler Toffoli scored the winner with 30 seconds remaining in overtime as the Calgary Flames rallied for a 3-2 victory against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Nazem Kadri had a goal, and Brett Ritchie also scored for Calgary, which improved to 2-1-0 on its eight-game homestand. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 25 saves.

Sebastian Aho and Calvin de Haan scored for Carolina, which dropped to 2-1-1 on its five-game trip that concludes Monday in Vancouver. Antti Raanta stopped 29 of 32 shots.

On the winner, the Flames' Rasmus Andersson drove the puck down the right-wing boards before sending a pass back to Toffoli in the slot for a one-timer that beat Raanta.

The Hurricanes had a chance to win it in regulation when Calgary's Blake Coleman received a double-minor for high sticking Brent Burns at center ice with 6:36 remaining. But the Flames killed off the four-minute disadvantage, allowing just two shots in the process.

Aho gave the Hurricanes the lead just 1:44 into the game, taking a pass from Teuvo Teravainen at the blue line, speeding around a defender and putting a backhander past Markstrom.

de Haan made it 2-0 at 10:28 on a wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle past a screened Markstrom, who complained his stick had been knocked out of his hands.

Kadri pulled the Flames within a goal with the man advantage at 13:31, converting a rebound of Toffoli's shot.

Ritchie tied it at 2:31 of the second, firing the puck toward the net from the goal line on the right-wing boards. The puck went off Raanta and into the net as the goalie was caught cheating in looking for a pass across the crease.

Carolina's Derek Stepan appeared to break the 2-2 tie on a wrist shot from the slot with 8.6 seconds remaining in the second period. A video review determined Aho was offside when the Hurricanes entered the attacking zone, nullifying the goal and leaving the teams even going into the third.
