Mason Marchment tied a club record with six points, leading the Florida Panthers to an 8-4 win over the host Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.

Marchment, who has 23 points in 21 games this year, posted two goals and four assists on the night. He tied the franchise single-game points record set by Olli Jokinen on March 17, 2007, against the New York Islanders.

Marchment is a plus-22 this season following a plus-6 night.

Florida's third line of Marchment, Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell combined for 15 points and a plus-18 rating. At the time when they had accounted for six goals, they had taken just seven shots and logged only nine minutes off the ice.

Lundell had five assists to set a franchise rookie record for a single game. He is the first NHL rookie since the New York Islanders' Mathew Barzal (Feb. 9, 2018) to register five assists in a game.

Reinhart had a hat trick and one assist as Florida won its fourth straight game. The Panthers are 14-2-1 in their past 17 games.

The Panthers never trailed, also getting one goal each from Aleksander Barkov, Owen Tippett and MacKenzie Weegar.

The Panthers, the highest-scoring team in the NHL, beat Columbus 9-2 the last time they played, on Jan. 15 in Sunrise, Fla.

Blue Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins, who took the loss in the prior meeting, was beaten again, allowing seven goals on 25 shots. He was pulled after the second period in favor of Joonas Korpisalo, who stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced.

Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky improved his record to 23-4-3, making 32 saves.

Columbus was led by Patrik Laine, who had his second two-goal in as many nights. The Blue Jackets also got one goal each from Gustav Nyquist and Emil Bemstrom, but their two-game win streak ended.

The Panthers needed just 32 seconds to get on the board on Marchment's first goal, and the lead was 4-1 before Laine scored his first of the night with eight seconds left in the opening period.

The Blue Jackets pulled within 5-4 just after the game's midpoint on Laine's second goal, but two goals by Florida in a 15-second span late in the second period expanded the margin to 7-4.

Marchment capped the night's scoring 27 seconds into the third period.
