Sebastian Aho and former Rangers defenseman Tony DeAngelo each collected a goal and two assists to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 6-3 victory over New York on Friday in Raleigh, N.C.

Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist and another former Rangers player, Jesper Fast, also scored, as did rookie Seth Jarvis and Nino Niederreiter. The Hurricanes improved to 12-2-1 in their last 15 games.

Andrei Svechnikov notched two assists and Frederik Anderson made 20 saves for Carolina.

New York's Mika Zibanejad recorded a power-play goal and an assist to extend his point streak to seven games (four goals, five assists). Chris Kreider scored and set up a goal, and fourth-liner Greg McKegg also tallied for the Rangers, who saw their three-game winning streak come to a halt.

DeAngelo's shot from the point was deflected home by Trocheck to open the scoring with 6:47 remaining in the first period. Trocheck's goal was his ninth of the season and second in his last three games.

Carolina doubled the advantage just over four minutes later after Rangers defenseman Adam Fox was unable to control a loose puck in the neutral zone.

Aho, who was playing in his 400th career NHL game, settled the puck and skated in on a 2-on-1 rush before setting up Jarvis at the back door for an easy conversion. Jarvis' goal was eighth of the season and second in as many games.

DeAngelo set up a one-timer by Fast, who wired a shot from the point past a screened Alexandar Georgiev (29 saves) to give the Hurricanes a 3-0 lead at 3:33 of the second period.

Zibanejad's one-timer from inside the left circle put New York on the scoreboard just over three minutes later, before Carolina countered with a quick flourish.

Aho's determined effort from in close at 14:46 of the second period resulted in his team-leading 17th goal of the season and second in his last three games. Niederreiter's easy tap-in just under five minutes later extended the Hurricanes' advantage to 5-1.

Kreider scored his team-leading 26th goal and McKegg added his first of the season 74 seconds later early in the third period to halve the deficit.

However, DeAngelo sealed the win by scoring a power-play goal with 2:33 remaining.
