Jonathan Quick made 29 saves and the host Los Angeles Kings snapped the Minnesota Wild's eight-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.

Quick, who will turn 36 next month, has won three straight starts while combining to save 76 of 78 shots.

Phillip Danault and Brendan Lemieux scored for the Kings, who have won three of four.

Marcus Foligno scored and Kaapo Kahkonen made 35 saves for the Wild, who were trying to match their second-longest winning streak in franchise history.

Lemieux, who was playing his first game since serving a five-game suspension for biting the hand of Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 27, gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at 9:15 of the third period when he followed up a rebound in the slot.

The Kings lost defenseman Alex Edler to a lower-body injury after he was checked into the corner boards by Brandon Duhaime just 2:40 into the game.

Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov hit the net at the end of the first period, but the goal came just after the horn sounded, giving Quick his fifth consecutive scoreless period.

The Wild scored with three seconds left on a power play to take a 1-0 lead at 13:11 of the second period.

Drew Doughty was in the penalty box for interference when the Wild won a faceoff with seven seconds left on the man-advantage and Matt Dumba took a slap shot from just inside the blue line. Foligno was cutting across the slot when he deflected the puck past Quick for his 12th goal of the season.

The Kings tied it 1-1 at 14:29 of the second.

Doughty's wrist shot from the high slot hit traffic and caromed sideways to Danault, whose first shot was saved by Kahkonen, but his second got over his pad.

Dumba was back in the lineup after missing the 5-2 win at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday because of an illness, but fellow defenseman Jonas Brodin was a late scratch because of an upper-body injury.
