Brandon Saad scored twice to lead the St. Louis Blues past the visiting San Jose Sharks 4-1 Thursday night.

Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou also scored for the Blues, who snapped their four-game winless streak. David Perron earned two assists.

Blues goaltender Ville Husso made 26 saves in his first start since Oct. 25, when he blanked the Los Angeles Kings 3-0. He just returned from COVID-19 protocols.

Jonathan Dahlen scored and James Reimer made 44 saves for the Sharks, who lost for the fifth time in their last seven games.

Husso was tested early when Erik Karlsson got a breakaway six minutes into the game. Husso stopped that shot and a subsequent point-blank follow by Nick Bonino.

The Sharks thought they took a 1-0 lead shortly thereafter when Logan Couture scored off the rush on the left wing. But the Blues successfully challenged the goal, resulting in an offside play.

The Blues struck on the power play midway through the period. Saad parked at the left post and redirected Ryan O'Reilly's pass from the right circle.

The Blues doubled their lead to 2-0 just 1:35 into the second period. Rookie defenseman Scott Perunovich made an end-to-end rush up the left wing and fed Pavel Buchnevich, who set up Thomas' redirection goal breaking to the net.

Dahlen cut the deficit to 2-1 with 11:44 left in the second period. He stepped in from the slot for a point-blank conversion of Timo Meier's pass from the behind the net.

But, just 2:01 later, Saad scored again, this time coming through the right circle off a cross-ice pass from Oskar Sundqvist.

Kyrou made it 4-1 by taking a pass from Perron and scoring off a left-wing rush 1:09 into the third period.
