Man City vs Chelsea Predictions and Picks for Today's FA Cup Match

The offensive attack of Man City is hard to wrap your head around, but it also leads to them giving up silly goals. Our FA Cup picks are backing Manchester, but we believe Chelsea will get their own as well.

Today, April 20, we have a huge game in the FA Cup. After being dumped out of Europe by Real Madrid we could be set to see Man City looking for revenge, but how will they do against their former player Cole Palmer and Chelsea?

It’s a huge semifinal clash at Wembley with the winning team getting a spot in next month’s final. Don’t miss my Man City vs. Chelsea predictions and betting picks.

Man City vs Chelsea picks and predictions

It’s Man City vs Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday, and the home side needs to bounce back from midweek European heartbreak and secure their spot in the FA Cup final. Meanwhile, Chelsea would love to stop them and get closer to securing Mauricio Pochettino silverware in his first season at the club.

As bad as this week has been for City, they’re still top of the league and only lost to Real Madrid on penalties, with both legs of their game finishing level. As far as disasters go, this isn’t too bad. They’ve still scored three or more goals in four of their last five games and come into this knowing they’re a far superior team to Chelsea.

City’s main issue has been giving up silly goals this season — conceding in each of their last five games — however against opposition not named Real Madrid they’ve found a way to score four or more goals and win. In the Premier League they’ve won 43.8% of their games while also conceding, which speaks to just how dangerous this attack is.

The home side will fancy their chances of scoring plenty of goals past Chelsea, with the Blues conceding at least two in seven of their past eight games in all competitions. They’ve let Championship clubs like Leeds and Leicester put two past them, as well as Sheffield United and Burnley — both teams set to be relegated. City should win this by a couple of goals, but their leaky defense is likely to concede yet again.

My best bet: City to win and both teams to score (+179 at TonyBet)

Man City vs Chelsea same-game parlay (SGP)

Man City to win

Erling Haaland to score

Cole Palmer to score

In addition to my best bet, I'm also backing two players to score. For City, it’ll be Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has 31 goals for the club this season, with five in two FA Cup games so far. After a poor display in both Champions League games, he’ll be desperate to bounce back.

I'm also backing Cole Palmer to score. He's been incredible this season, netting 23 times since arriving this summer, and he would love to score against the team that sold him.
