NHL Parlay & SGP Picks: Odds and Predictions for Monday's Playoff Games

The Dallas Stars have been the better team through three games against Vegas, but the series score tells a different story. Our parlay picks are backing Dallas to knot things up, and Wyatt Johnston will play a part in that.

There are a pair of games on the ice tonight with the Florida Panthers looking to punch their ticket to Round 2 while the Dallas Stars look to even their series with the Vegas Golden Knights, and I have an NHL parlay to cover all the action.

Here are my NHL picks for Monday, April 29, along with an SGP for each game from our NHL experts.

NHL playoffs parlay picks April 29

  • TB/FLA Under 6.5 + Stars in regulation + Wyatt Johnston 3+ SOG (+629 at FaDuel)

Best NHL parlay picks for Monday

NHL parlay pick

TB/FLA Under 6.5

Stars in regulation

Wyatt Johnston 3+ shots on goal

After the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers combined for just 10 goals through the first two games of their Round 1 series, the two clubs exploded for 17 across the past two contests. I’m expecting Florida to return to a puck-possession focus on home ice and limit Tampa Bay in a low-scoring Game 5.

Additionally, I also expect Panthers No. 1 Sergei Bobrovsky to show up after allowing six goals on 32 shots in Game 4, and there’s positive regression ahead of his .874 postseason SV% after posting a .915 mark during the regular season. The Panthers also allowed a pedestrian 2.56 goals per game with a second-ranked 58.1 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 on home ice during the regular season.

Of course, Tampa starter Andrei Vasilevskiy has been far from spectacular, with a ho-hum .899 SV% and 3.01 GAA through the first four games of the series. Remember, he posted .928 and 2.11 marks through 71 starts during Tampa’s three consecutive trips to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Turning to leg two, the Dallas Stars have been the better team through three games, and they finally hit the win column with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 3. Dallas has driven possession and created more high-quality scoring chances, and No. 1 goalie Jake Oettinger has found a groove with a .932 SV% over his past two starts after a tough Game 1 outing.

There’s been a huge gap in the 5-on-5 to this point of the series:

Category Dallas Stars Vegas Golden Knights
CF% 58.5% 41.5%
GF% 60% 40%
xGF% 69.2% 30.8%
HDCF% 70.3% 29.7%

The final leg of this two-game parlay features emerging Dallas star Wyatt Johnston, and him continuing to capitalize on his promotion to the No. 1 line with Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson. Johnston leads the series in shots (12) and attempts (32), and he’s clicked with his new linemates for an impressive 60.5 CF% at 5-on-5.

Today's NHL same-game parlay picks

Our betting experts have scoured through today's NHL odds to find your best SGP bets for each of the three games on Monday's playoff slate:

Lightning vs. Panthers same-game parlay (SGP)

Panthers moneyline

Sam Reinhart 3+ shots

Sam Reinhart anytime goalscorer

Panthers winger Sam Reinhart scored 57 goals in the regular season and he’s added three goals through four playoff games. The first-line winger has been aggressive as well, with at least three shots on goal in each game, including at least four shots in three contests.

Reinhart has had 3+ SOG in nine straight games dating back to the regular season, with a goal in six of his last seven contests.

Stars vs Golden Knights same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 5.5

Stars moneyline

Just like the best bet, we cashed on this identical SGP in Game 3 and are once again going back to the well in Game 4. Aside from the goaltending battle, Dallas has been the better team in this series despite the 2-1 deficit.

This postseason, the Stars outrank the Knights in xGF/60, xGA/60, and expected goal differential per 60 minutes. Vegas’ home ice advantage will likely play a role on Monday, but I don’t think it offsets those aforementioned variables.
