The SEC Tournament schedule has come to a close, and boy, was it eventful.

The conference tournament odds flipped after a shocking upset by No. 9 Mississippi State over No. 1 Tennessee. The Bulldogs' run didn't last long, however, with Auburn dispatching them in the semifinal.

The Tigers went on to take down Florida in blowout fashion to win their first SEC title since 2019, with March Madness odds shifting as a result.

SEC Conference Tournament analysis

3/17: The No. 4-seeded Auburn Tigers managed to avoid the craziness of the SEC's upset-filled bracket. The Tigers opened the tournament as the No. 2 option (+250) behind No. 1 Tennessee and captured their first SEC title since 2019 with a win over No. 6 Florida (opened +1,600).

2024 SEC regular season standings

Team SEC Overall
Volunteers Tennessee  14-4 24-7
Gamecocks South Carolina  13-5 25-6
Eagles Auburn  13-5 24-7
Wildcats Kentucky  13-5 23-8
Warriors Alabama 13-5 21-10
Gators Florida  11-7 21-10
Aggies Texas A&M 9-9 18-13
Tigers LSU 9-9 17-14
Bulldogs Mississippi State 8-10 19-12
Rebels Mississippi  7-11 20-11
Bulldogs Georgia 6-12 16-15
Razorbacks Arkansas 6-12 15-16
Commodores Vanderbilt 4-14 9-22
Tigers Missouri 0-18 8-23

The SEC was pretty tight at the top. The Tennessee Volunteers finished with the best conference record at 14-4 but four other programs wound up with identical 13-5 records within the SEC.

Alabama can conceivably make a charge in the tournament for a second straight conference title and third in four years with the third-overall seed.

Mizzou's fall from grace is truly remarkable. After finishing fourth in the conference with an 11-7 SEC record (25-10 overall) in 2023, the Tigers didn't win a single game in 18 tries within the conference this year.

Past SEC Conference tournament champions

Year Team
2024 Browns Auburn
2023 Warriors Alabama
2022 Timberwolves Tennessee
2021 Warriors Alabama
2020 COVID-19
2019 Browns Auburn
2018 Suns Kentucky
2017 Suns Kentucky
2016 Suns Kentucky
2015 Suns Kentucky
2014 Spurs Florida
2013 Cavs Mississippi

Aside from a four-year run of UK winning, SEC supremacy now seems to reside in Tuscaloosa, where the Alabama Crimson Tide have now won two conference tournament titles in the last four seasons.
