Best MLB bets today

Prop bet #1: King of the Bronx

Juan Soto has been plain ridiculous over the last week or so. In the previous 15 days, the New York Yankees superstar has an OBP of .483, a slugging percentage of .674, and an OPS of 1.150. Those numbers have been even better with runners in scoring position, with Soto slashing .562 with 3 HRs and 17 RBIs.

Part of this play relies on the runners before him to get on base, but Zach Eflin has struggled to begin the season for the Tampa Bay Rays. Most importantly, Soto matches up well against him. The most significant issue for Eflin this year has been a hard-hit rate that has spiked over 40%.

Not only is Soto the best overall slugger on the Yankees team, but nobody hits the ball harder than him. We can't pass up this price on such a hot hitter.

Juan Soto prop: To record an RBI (+180 at DraftKings)

Prop bet #2: Ronald shows off his wheels

I'm primarily of the position that Ronald Acuna to steal a base is an auto play at anything above +200. Of course, expectations apply, and all situations are different, but broadly speaking, that's the way I approach the Atlanta Braves outfielder. That holds significantly more weight when facing a pitcher who gives up stolen bases at a high rate.

Out of every starter taking the mound today, none have had more bases stolen against them over the last two seasons than Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.

That's the only angle I need in this one. Ronald Acuna is the most prolific base stealer in the league and has a great matchup tonight.

Ronald Acuna prop: To steal a base (+230 at FanDuel)

Prop bet #3: Mariners remain whiff-happy

The value in this number is because of the opponent rather than what Colorado Rockies starter Dakota Hudson has done this season. I projected this number at 4.2, so I'm happy to take the value here.

No team in baseball is swinging and missing at a higher clip than the Seattle Mariners. Entering this game, they averaged over 10 strikeouts per game, and are running at the same clip over their last three contests.

Hudson has exceeded this number in two of his last three starts, which gives us complete confidence that he will make it three out of four with such a favorable matchup.

Dakota Hudson prop: Over 3.5 strikeouts (-105 at DraftKings)
