The Blue Jays pitching staff is among the worst in baseball in team ERA, WHIP, opponents batting average, and home runs allowed. They were just roughed up in Philadelphia and Washington and now have to face a hot-hitting Minnesota Twins lineup. The Twins just took three of four from the Mariners, while scoring at least six runs in each of the last three games. Going up against Yusei Kikuchi will be tough, but Kikuchi is good for a couple of runs before the bullpen comes in and blows the game. The Twins will take advantage of shoddy Jays pitching and plate at least four runs tonight. 

Ranger Suarez appears to be the second coming of Cy Young and the Marlins simply don't stand a chance. Suarez has been lights out, owning a 6-0 record with a 1.72 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP. The Marlins are among the worst of the worst offensively and have not scored more than three runs in three straight and four of their last six. That won't help their cause considering Trevor Rogers takes the mound, sporting an 0-5 record with a 6.15 ERA. Both teams had an off day yesterday, but the Phils bats should be the ones to benefit the most. The Phillies run away with this one. 

The 23-year-old is poised to make his first All-Star team this season and already sits third in the AL MVP odds race. Meanwhile, Griffin Canning is off to a horrendous start with a 6.69 ERA in seven starts. Canning’s allowed 37 hits and six home runs across 35 innings, and matches up terribly with Witt. With four pitches he uses more than 15% of the time, Witt hits them all well and should have Canning in for a long day. Canning’s favorite pitch is his four-seamer (33.9% of the time), a pitch Witt has mashed this season with a .314 average and .686 SLG — he’s hit four doubles, four triples, and three home runs off fastballs.

Logan Webb has been roughed up over his last two starts, giving up four runs in each, while he's struggled with command, walking five batters. Now he faces a desperate Reds team, who despite losing is still doing damage at the plate. On the flip side, the Reds will trot out Andrew Abbott, and his issues with the longball have not yet been corrected. He's given up two home runs in two straight, and three of his last four, and the Giants have enough pop to take advantage of that. Add in the fact the wind is blowing out to right-center upwards of 17mph, and I see a high-scoring game tonight at Oracle Park.
