If Francis Ngannou prevails over Anthony Joshua in Friday’s boxing match in Saudi Arabia, the iconic rapper Drake will receive a payout of more than $1.9 million.

Drake posted a picture of his betting slip on Instagram, with the comment, "Betting on a scary man."

This will only be Ngannou’s second professional boxing match. He lost his first to Tyson Fury in October. But Ngannou did a lot of damage in that bout. In fact, many thought the former UFC champion got a raw deal in that split decision loss.

Long betting history

Drake is an avid sports bettor, well known for his oversized wagers, which don’t always go his way. He bet more than $230,000 on F1 driver Charles Leclerc to win the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix. Unfortunately, Leclerc’s car had a power unit failure and did not finish the race.

In October, Drake bet $850,000 on Logan Paul to beat Dillon Danis by knockout. Paul won – but he won by disqualification, not by a knockout.

Drake had more luck with his Super Bowl bet. He bet $1.15 million on the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the San Francisco 49ers. On his Instagram account, Drake posted, “I can’t bet against the Swifties.”

In 2022, the rapper became an official partner with Stake, the cryptocurrency-friendly sports betting provider. And while Drake doesn’t always cash a winning ticket, Stake seems to have scored a winner with Drake, who’s bets always garner the attention coveted by marketing managers.
