Circa Sports is doing more to stand out from the legal sports betting crowd with its popular no-rake, professional football contests this fall.
The Las Vegas-based sportsbook and online betting site guaranteed Thursday that it will up its prize pool $2 million to pay out $14 million for Circa Million V and the Circa Survivor, the largest potential winnings in the five-year history of the contests.
"We always want to keep raising the stakes for our football contests and knew we had to go big for the fifth year," Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said in a release. "Last year, we gave away $12 million in prizes so to up the pool by $2 million is an exciting feeling for our team. We can't wait to get the season started this September."

How to play big-money contests
Circa Million V is promising contestants a pool of $6 million, with a grand prize of $1 million to first place. The contest’s entry fee is $1,000, and it consists of each player making five NFL picks against the spread each week either in-person at a Circa retail sportsbook or via the mobile app in Nevada only.
A total of $3.65 million will be allocated for places two through 100, with quarterly prizes and booby prizes totaling $450,000 up for grabs as well.
Circa Survivor guarantees $8 million, and possibly more depending on the number of entries, to the winner. With a $1,000 entry fee and a limit of 10 entities, players pick one team per week to win through 20 legs. If they lose or tie the first week, they can buy back as many as 10 more entries.
Players continue selecting one NFL team to win, and they’re out if that team loses or ties. The remaining player or players after the 20 legs, which are split up during Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day games to go beyond the 17-week NFL schedule, win or share the $8 million.
Entry to the contests is underway. Players outside of Nevada can also sign up for proxies.
A sportsbook of the people
