of note:
the Stanley Cup Penguins retain top four D-man Justin Schultz But lose left wing Chris Kunitz to Lightning, center Nick Bonino to Predators, D-man Penguins D-man Trevor Daley to Red Wings and D-man Ron Hainsey to Maple Leafs. Pittsburgh also picks up former Stars goalie Antti Niemi (which has to pizz off young Tristan Jarry). some what surprises "The Flower" didn't lobby George McPhee to try and pick up Bonino and Daley. Ron Hainsey was an 'injury replacement" BUT played well for Pittsburgh during the playoffs.
in addition to Nick Bonino the Predators pick up former Flyers-Bluejackets left wing Scotty Hartnell and goalie Anders Lindback
Blackhawks re-acquire former Stars left wing left Patrick Sharp along with former Sharks-Senators center Tommy Wingels and former Islanders goalie Jean-Francois Berube
the Canucks VERY active sign former Flyers-Bluejackets center Sam Gagner, former Coyotes center Alex Burmistrov, former Flyers D-man Michael Del Zotto and former Flyers goalie Anders Nilsson. they lose long time goalie Ryan Miller to the Ducks
the Rangers "pay up" for former Blues-Capitals D-man Kevin Shattenkirk and also sign former Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec
Sharks re-sign Joe Thornton 1 year for $6 million. NO report yet on Patrick Marleau
Hurricanes with good pickups of former Capitals-Kings right wing Justin Williams and former Flames center Josh Jooris
