I might have a different take on Harris than ABN here but at least he can have an adult conversation with some content and intelligence, your reply is a waste of time and not sure why you would reply it is so poor there is zero potential for conversation or interaction.

 Our takes on the election are different, your comments about dems voting for Trump is true but to me the reasons are different. The DEM vote for Trump was not a rejectio n of Harris more that people in general are lacking cognitive motivation to research truth and reality. People were TOLD that Biden was responsible for inflation so he was, even though no he was not...people wanted to blame Biden for aspects of their plight and especially higher costs so they believed the lies Trump spun and voted in anticipation of fake lies and untruths. Sometimes the person who is a raving lunatic liar is loud enough to get their way and after the election is over there is no accountability or ownership of the lies the hate the divide, so Trump the liar and cheat deceived the public and got elected.

Pretty much zero of his spin lies and FIRST DAY nonsense played out and yet people voted based on his inflation lies, egg prices lies, gas lies, Ukraine and Israel lies, I do not know of any lies Trump told and especially in his lying time frame actually happened and yet who cares these dopes voted and here we are.

I would imagine if you were to go back to October and have footage of Trump firing GOP federal employees, footage of gas prices being HIGHER than when he spun his lies, prices in grocery stores being the same and HIGHER for many items, the fascist ICE crap where innocent people were arrested, slammed to the ground, wacko men patrolling cities and bullying citizens I kinda think the outcome of the election would be different.

SOME people did not buy his lies, I am one of them as I know he is a cheat a liar a bully and a loser so he could say anything and I would not believe him. Some of you are so partisan that his lies either didnt matter or you actually bought into them and the hatred towards the other side would lead you to vote for anything other than the DNC candidates in the queue.

 As much as Trump annoys me, I felt I had no choice. Seriously, what has Harris ever done to distinguish herself from anyone else? And after four years of being around Biden, she claims he was fine & wouldn't do anything different? You'd have to be daft to want her as POTUS. Trump has flipped DC on its head......which, in many ways, was needed. The libs just hate that they can't get away with "biz as usual" anymore.

And my viewpoint is definitely slanted on Harris because we are in the same State....that is a huge contributing factor there....I remember there was someone in this forum who was from Vance's home state, Ohio, and I really knew nothing about him because he was a baby on the political scene....then he's in Office and trying to be somebody...I remember asking, whoever that was, their opinion because they would have had a better understanding of him than I would have. Having State knowledge of a political figure is much better than the slants you get on TV or can get on the net...I appreciated the feedback that was provided because I generally had no idea about this guy. I do think, if you have an open mind, that you can learn from others who have endured that particular person's in-State workings. Harris had a long career in California of almost 25 years or so before being appointed VP.....lot's of stuff happened in California during her stint...

How do you know the state of Biden and especially since the position is a figurehead and there are hundreds of people involved in making decisions, we see that in spades here with Trump who has next to zero understanding of any actions being taken under his watch. Did you say the same for Reagan who was even worse than Biden or Trump who now is quite similar in many regards?

So flipped DC on its head, what does that mean to you and what is the benefit of these actions to you? Spell out what it means not generalities but specifics and actions and the impacts of those actions. I would say he is damaging this country with his dividing antagonistic self serving approach. This country does not need more divide and anger we need more coming together and working together to make things better for the LESSER in this country, not the wealthy and powerful. 

Ive asked you for content and details before and you seem either unwilling or incapable of rational discussion, do you have more than LIBS HATE and turn DC on its head to make discussion or is it just generalities and emoticons from you?

If you nitpick anyone you will find something about them, or their ways, that annoy you.

I would like to know, if you had the choice of any candidate in the past 15-20 years which ones would you have voted for instead of Trump?

Who and why?  What would they be better at?

Also, can you think of any off the top of your head that were worse than Harris?

To keep the same gender line in play, I would say Hillary would have been a handful had she got her ticket punched.....some evil there as well..the Clinton's were just some bad character people..

My list is about non-centrists and politicians who were extreme in their views. The US needs more centrists more candidates who can balance both sides and accomplish more things towards the middle than the extremes. I consider Harris to be more centrist than any of the above list, so I consider all of my list far far worse than her.

Interesting that you put it down to simply being the most centrist.  What about leadership background or experience in politics and ability to get congress to work with them.  Respect on the world stage.

 Worse than Harris? Not anyone that was actually the nominee.......wait......no, maybe a tie between her & Billary, but at least  she looked like she knew what she was doing. I abstained in the McCain/Obama race.....couldn't support either one of them.

That is my point.  With hindsight from the first term Trump looks better than folks assumed.  Then, with the second term, even better.  

But he was for sure not my first choice of all the folks the first time around. I think it is a good thing because it might mean we should consider non-politicians a bit more.  That is some of the sentiment that was emerging back with Perot.  Then you saw it with some other business-type folks.  But none had the charisma or whatnot to make it serious.  Not since Ike has this been a consideration.

I did not mean just the actual nominee.  I meant actual candidates or even some you wished had made a serious run.

I disagree about Hillary.  She is far smarter and more savvy than Harris could ever be.  I think she had a good political sense and had the diplomatic experience to with it.  Plus she would have had Bill in the background to rely on.  Who would Harris have to rely on.  I would not have agreed with her policies but she would have been far better than Hillary would have been.

Yes. McCain and Romney were horrible candidates to run against Obama.

But just curious and interested in how folks view different candidates in hindsight.  It is always interesting to me.

Largely agree.  Close enough on this one to leave it there.

The egg prices  and similar arguments baffle me as to their continued effectiveness.

The sad reality in my opinion is that both sides routinely over promise and under deliver with accountability and retribution being years (or decades) away and independent candidates with legitimate ideas do not have an substantive chance.

Conceptually, DOGE.  

It's been long held that the government is inefficient and wasteful.  The mindset of use it or lose it amongst many agencies has become mainstream.

In another post there is discussion of helping the lesser and the idea of DOGE flipped normal operating in DC on its head.

As to the means, methods, and results It's pretty much in the eye of the beholder and similar to the point above.

I recall Trump's first term seeing his approval of the individuals right to try unconventional and experimental therapies.

The main advocate for it that did the best study and research was Jack Kemp with the Kemp Commission.  

He had a well-thought out tax plan.  Whether it was pragmatic or not is another question.  But he had some sharp guys look into it for him at the time.
