BREAKING: Federal Judge crushes Trump — orders him to pay full SNAP benefits TOMORROW after letting 42 million Americans go hungry.

Donald Trump just got humiliated in federal court — again.

After weeks of chaos and cruelty from the White House, U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr. has ordered the Trump administration to immediately fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in full after the president’s team let food stamp benefits lapse for the first time in American history.

Yes — under Trump, people literally went hungry because his administration “failed to consider the practical consequences” of cutting off food aid to 42 million low-income Americans, including 16 million children. The judge blasted Trump’s team for “ignoring the congressional mandate for contingency funds” and for holding food assistance hostage for political leverage during the record-breaking shutdown.

Trump’s USDA had claimed it could only pay 65% of benefits — a figure it simply made up — even as millions scrambled to afford groceries. Food banks were overrun. Parents skipped meals so their kids could eat. Meanwhile, Trump’s White House shrugged.

Judge McConnell wasn’t having it. In open court, he told the DOJ’s lawyer point-blank: “Nothing was done consistent with the court’s order.” Then he made it clear what was at stake: “People will go hungry, food pantries will be overburdened, and needless suffering will occur. That’s what irreparable harm means.”

The Obama-appointed judge didn’t stop there. He ruled that Trump’s administration violated the law, failed to follow his original order, and “arbitrarily and capriciously created this problem.” Judge McConnell referred to a Truth Social post President Trump made in which he swore to withhold the SNAP funds. Trump posted that food stamp benefits “will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before!”

The judge determined that Trump's Truth Social post was essentially an admission of his "intent to defy the court order when he said ‘SNAP payments will be given only when the government opens.'” Because of that, "people will go hungry, food pantries will be burdened and … suffering will occur."

Judge McConnell denied Trump’s request for a delay and ordered full payment by tomorrow.

This marks the first time in U.S. history that food benefits lapsed — a crisis that experts say was completely preventable if Trump’s team had simply done its job.

Trump’s so-called “populist” presidency now stands exposed for what it really is: government by cruelty, where working families are left to starve while billionaires get tax breaks.

Judge McConnell said it best: “This problem could have and should have been avoided.”

Trump didn’t just shut down the government. He shut down compassion. And this time, a federal judge had to remind him what it means to be human.

Remember: These funds were already available. They tried to block them anyway.

They’re clearly feeling the pressure.

Let’s hope this sticks—and every last SNAP dollar is paid out.

The SNAP funds for November may be available as soon as Friday, complying with U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr.'s Thursday ruling. Funds often takes a week or more to be loaded onto debit cards once states initiate the process. It's not clear when exactly funds will be available to recipients.

The order came in response to a challenge from cities and nonprofits complaining that the administration was only offering to cover 65% of the maximum benefit, a decision that would have left some recipients getting nothing for this month.

Nearly 42 million people rely on the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps.

McConnell was one of two judges who ruled last week that the administration could not skip November’s benefits entirely because of the federal shutdown.

Shortly after the judges' rulings, lawyers for the Trump administration filed a motion to appeal, contesting both Thursday's decision and the earlier one last Saturday that ordered the federal government to use emergency reserves to fund the food program throughout November.

Vice President JD Vance told reporters the ruling was “absurd."

“What we’d like to do is for the Democrats to open up the government of course, then we can fund SNAP," Vance said at an unrelated White House event. "But in the midst of a shutdown, we can’t have a federal court telling the president how he has to triage the situation.”

This type of order is usually not subject to an appeal, but the Trump administration has challenged other rulings like it before.

“This unprecedented injunction makes a mockery of the separation of powers. Courts hold neither the power to appropriate nor the power to spend,” the U.S. Department of Justice wrote in its request to the court.

In response, attorneys for the cities and nonprofits challenging Trump's administration said the government has plenty of available money and the court should "not allow them to further delay getting vital food assistance to individuals and families who need it now

In Maine Governor Mills directed DHHS to fund the program in full beginning Monday.....

You know people need food .

So you trying to divide, the poor here in Maine will receive their benefits on Monday.

But the federal worker the mail man who brings this news, the TSA worker that checks bags, and the custom officer is assumed to be squared away because Christmas Thanksgiving the children their spouse and all the bills are squared? 

.... Morgages need to be paid , food needs to be in refrigerator, and their homes need comfort and I don't care if they belong to a union that supports Democrats..... They deserve to be paid for labor...

If it was a private employer and they didn't make payroll since October they be facing felonies for not providing wages to how many ?? Gross elevated dereliction of duty..... 

All the dems have to do is vote YES to reopen the government just like the Repubs have voted YES several times. 

I agree, file felony charges to every govt. figure who has voted NO to reopening the federal govt.

Absolutely.  If not, they should.  No federal worker should be paycheck to paycheck.  

I am not saying this is easy on anyone and if it stretches out and they start missing multiple checks it will be bad.

But there are plenty of others where food is a real problem.

But they need to put more pressure on the Democrats to open the government back up before Thanksgiving.

Piss poor republican leadership when you can’t get 60 out of 100 to agree on something.

I don't believe the government workers are any better off than most, they may have better living conditions but it a cost of living equation, gated sub  development is more expensive private schools the stores within these areas are typically more expensive, taxes are higher cars cost more and vacation ( down time is needed) service personnel at the enlisted level is living mostly paycheck to paycheck as well.

When America realizes how interconnected everything is we see what happens to one affects all. 

These food assistance is absolutely necessary in poor communities due to everything in grocery retail is equated with the use of cards, and at this level liquidity in a perishable goods market is absolutely necessary .... The cards generate needed revenue to many businesses that accept the cards....
