True cappers know he didn’t personally go 0-3 vs. the Mariners this season. Skubal got a no-decision in Game 2 after completing 7 innings and allowing only 2 runs. Kyle Finnegan took the loss for the Tigers in that game.

George Kirby needed only 10 pitches to retire the side in the top of the 1st. Skubal needed 18.

The Mariners are taking a lot of Skubal’s pitches that are off the plate and fouling off a lot of the good ones. They are doing what they need to do to tire out an elite starter.

The Mariners’ advantage right now feels bigger than the current 1-0 score.

True.  But he is dealing -- 7Ks in a row?.  Can go another 3-4 innings even at this rate.

The Tigers can’t hit the ball hard and they’re a long way from knocking Kirby out of the game. I’m really regretting my in-game bet.

Kerry Carpenter is 2-2 tonight and his teammates are a feeble 0-14.

Way too many full counts by Skubal tonight. He’s completed five innings but the pitch count is a bloated 85. The Mariners continue to make him work by swinging at few of his many misses.

Meanwhile George Kirby through five innings has thrown only 65 pitches.
