Depends what lines you were able to get. That is always the contraversy. Some people win these tight games, some people fall short. There have been about 4 or 5 of these situations this year.
Each of them has won. What makes it tough is if Detroit loses C, some including JM can consider Det series a win because they bought 3 points. The undefeated record will still be intact.
Now your next question is going to be what are the results from past years?

How about option C... shoot a cannonball right up JM's ass.
I lost with Washington +2 last night on a late costly turnover which turned into a foul at the other end. Still had a chance on a last shot, but that's life. On to my Washington [B] and Detroit [C]. My LA Lakers series lost.
There are a lot more games so far this year falling within that 3-pt margin. Very strange indeed. We all know the NBA is fixed (those who saw the 60 minutes segment with that NBA referee) so how in the heck are so many games close all the time?? Seems very strange how oddsmakers "seem" to have most games fall within a point or two. Especially in basketball where there is an endless possibility of scoring points. The oddsmakers are not this perfect.
So I would say, no points, modified labourchere, spread the losses across all lines and suck it up and go for the next series.

The nice thing about a series loss is, more wins are right around the corner. JMs system is solid! I will say that! Using proper MM techniques, those upcoming wins can make up for the few losses that do occur.

I would advise buying the points... there are a lot of games that come within the 2-3 points that you buy..... There hasn't been any full 3-game losses this year buying the points.

I agree with Joe Money.
Going by information from previous posts it was noted - 13 losses each of the past 2 years if you didn't buy the 3 points. I am curious to know how this method ends up being profitable at season's end.
I am well aware using the Lab MM will spread out the losses and try to recover as the season progresses. That seems fine for the early part of the season as there are many games and time is on your side.
2nd half of season losses will become "more stressful" because you will start running out of tme to recoup.
I am not trying to bash or criticize just wondering because I have never used that approach.
Best of luck to all whatever way you choose.
The bottom line is making the most $$$$ possible..

Congrats on another sweet night of bets! Detroit narrowly escaped, while Utah easily dismantled their opponent!
I do want to note to you that for the Detroit game, the spread varied anywhere from +4 to +5.5. With the 3-point purchase, you could have won, pushed, or lost on your wager. In today's game, the later during the day that you made your bet, the likelier it was for you to grab the spread at +8.5 after buying 3 points. If you made your bet earlier during the day, you would have either lost or pushed on your bet if you caught the spread at +8 or below after buying the points. The bet, however, was a narrow win under the +5.5 closing line and this series is considered closed. There is an optional bet for Detroit on 8/16 when they play against Oklahoma in their 3rd game if you wish to take advantage of that wager. Let me tell you: it definitely looks like a good bet to make! :)
I have to admit the system has been money, But I hat when this type of situation occurs. No matter what happens JM is in a no lose situation. If the Det C wins then he will gloat about a double win for 1 series chase. If Det C loses, he has already claimed victory and its on the the next series and his season record remains unblemished.
Its weird but I would feel more confident if Det B wager lost by 10..

Perfectly written! There is nothing wrong with a series loss.

I'm thinkin about just betting to win my base unit. That way, if it loses, no bid deal to lose the series, and there is still lots of time to win back the losses and beyond. If it wins, cool, we get back some loss.

One finds it very good to take some losses but with less juice
the other wants to buy 3 points , has very very big wagers and has only 1 or 2 losses...
Still confusion what's the best... :p
The best method is the one you are most comfortable with.
I don't like betting at -240 odds. So i don't. I didn't buy points last year and the system treated me very good. To be honest it is the only time i've ever been successful during a season of a given sport. If a team loses that would have won if i bought the points then i stop the series and count it as a loss.... Not a big deal. Just use labrochere. Last year i had 6or7 straight A losses followed by 6or7 straight A wins and it only took about 2or3 wins to get back where i was before the losing streak.
If you decide to buy points then you will win a few more series. But you have to risk more. Which means you need larger bank for when the losing streak comes.

As much as I hate this situation,
I am sticking with it and playing the Pistons C.
I don't have the luxury of waiting until gametime like JM and then getting the best lines however it goes. I have to go to work and don't have computer access there.
I am locked in at +5 +2 = +7
I have cut down on the total wager to 1/2 of what I should wager according to the system because technically it could have already won.

My plays are Det [C], Sac [A], Was [B]. I am going to watch this DET game closely. If they start to fall behind ATS around halftime, I may pull a double-sized trigger on the 2H ATS DET. Washington has been close, and actually playing a B and final game for me, since my first A game was a push. Sacramento, who knows what'll happen here. May put a little on DET ATS 1H as well.
