 Dealing with it cannot come from taxing other countries, we are not a manufacturing economy and we have carried trade imbalances for decades, thus it is not an emergency. The border has been open and has been an issue for decades it is not an emergency. It would be like saying the ER is being used so the resident doctor can build a man cave because it is an emergency. We are not going to FIX an emergency with an executive order, this is a fascist power grab ploy. If your idea of solving a problem is to raise prices and inflation on the US consumer then you do not understand how to solve problems. If you think the way to stop drugs is to deport minorities then you do not understand the drug trade. 

Do you want to shore up the border? Then shore it up...deporting here and there the project 2025 way is not going to fix the border problem but hey it gets votes and it gives Trump basis to seize political power and usurp the legislative and judicial process. Student loan debt is consumer deficit spending, much of the federal debt and deficits are not core high importance needs rather are partisan honey pots and vote grabs, very discretionary. We could cut off subsidies and corporate freebies so easily but I do not see Trump seeking to cut spending through PAC and lobbyist routes, the federal government could easily reduce spending and debt if we wanted to it is 100% the same as student loan debt. How would you have reacted if Biden had thrown down a Trump scheme and just poof forgave all debt and eliminated the federal department which functions for student loans? NO, it's like this; Other presidents did their job and had assylum seekers go through the DUE PROCESS to become American citizens like my great-great grandparents did. Obama quickly rounded up those who just walked in and had them properly deported without any hearing or DUE PROCESS. Biden threw DUE PROCESS out the window and told people to "Surge the border". He then had Border Patrol act like a clearing house releasing thousands daily instead of patrolling the border. He had ICE basically stand down as we saw with Garcia's Tenn. traffic stop. He went even further shuttling immigrants across the country in the dead of the night by plane. Soon cities across the country were overwhelmed by immigrants. Millions of dollars that could have been spent on OUR needy citizens diverted to luxury hotel stays, food and board. All the while "There is no border crisis". El Paso was ready to declare an emergency before the 2022 midterms. They were told to shutup and then Biden had the streets and storm drainage systems cleared of migrants before his visit. 

Now Trump has the responsibility to undue Biden's wrong. He ran his campaign on that and he won. 

I don't expect any wall to stop those hellbent on getting in. It's more symbolic than effective. And there are all kinds of ways to get in. I expect IMMEDIATE DUE PROCESS for those caught entering illegaly and that process is deportation. And just because Biden aided and abetted their illegal entry months ago makes no difference. I expect a president who maintains a decent vigil on protecting our borders. 

There will be those with underlying circumstances like Garcia and another named Camargo. IMO, Trump has to stand tuff but in the end those entitled to Due Process because of some other court agreement will get it, but not without a fight. What Biden did was horrific. It will takes years to undue even half of it. And show of weakness now only makes it so much harder and the dem politicians know it.

I live in AZ and have for over two decades. the border is something we deal with every single day so spare me the outrage, more than most outside of Tuc Slim I get it quite well thank you.

Your Biden narrative and explosion does not really jive with what Ive seen down here what I have read and what people have been saying, what does jive is the extremists who are aggressively seeking the opportunity to exaggerate and exploit and those people every election cycle ramp up the crazy and act kind of like you have. What I find an emergency is tuition loans and the inflation that college students have faced for three decades and the burden it places on those seeking opportunities to get good jobs, that also includes trade schools because those are not free either. We want an educated and functioning population but we will do nothing to stop the price ramping and the anchor it puts on people for decades after finishing school.

What you will maybe never end up realizing because you are a partisan zealot and are bent on forwarding your political agendas is that the border could be completely open and free, people could come and go...the border could be a lock down max prison wall with ZERO border concerns and guess what, nothing changes in your life and nothing improves in society. The law of averages and history prove that your contention and ranting is baloney because all groups of people have a segment who are lousy a segment who will seek to sell and manufacture drugs a segment who kill innocent people a segment who have no value for anyone but themselves, this is human nature. Not funny at all.  Because I am not comparing them.  One is a personal choice and one is NOT a personal choice, but a choice made FOR you by Congress.  Why should the government make itself worse by fixing YOUR bad personal choices and NOT rewarding other’s good choices.  That is a very, very poor comparison.

The mindset may be the same in the USA, in that folks tend to live in debt and, as a group, the country tends to run the government in debt.  But taking on more debt will not fix that problem.  
I have never minimized a person’s bad choices about taking on debt, I have long railed against that.  I am more against that than I am against the government doing it.  Both need fixing but are two very, very different issues and not very comparable.

I am not for a wall because as I have always said, if you take the incentive away it late felt takes care of itself.  As we have seen at least twice now.

But I disagree that a wall is only symbolic.  They are actually very effective.  You can look at various ways examples around the world and just in cities.  It makes it very difficult to get by through, etc.

But it is not necessary in the USA’s case.  But it would be effective.

Under Trump, new high school and college grads entering workforce are facing the worst job market since the 1980s according to Federal reserve bank of Richmond.  In contrast, US economy added more jobs during Biden's term than under Trump, Obama or Bush.

I used to hate the term gaslighting. Or more precisely, I hated it's overuse. You see, around 10 or so years ago, every beauty school drop out in the dive bar became a freaking Ph.D and started waxing about narcissism and gaslighting. It became nauseating. Now I find myself using the term daily. The fact is, whether here or in the world in general, the Democrats continue to gaslight us. And touting Biden's job creation when we all know it was simply people going back to work after covid shutdowns is a perfect example of this. Another example was, "Crime is down under Biden," when it had hit 25 years under Biden, and had nowhere to go but down.

I didn't blame Biden for the uptick in crime per se either but to credit him with bringing crime down, or for creating jobs, is completely asinine.

Pandemic hurt US economy under both Trump and Biden.  But the closer one looks at Biden's record the better it appears.  The worst year for job creation under Biden was comparable to the best year under Trump.  According to Bureau of labor statistics, more jobs were added under Biden than in the first 3 years in any presidency.

Stu, right out of the gate he lied to us all by saying Covid would disappear when the weather became warmer. He kept minimizing it's impact on society while having the FDA chasing down bullshit remedies like hydroxychloroquine. He demonized researchers when their findings didn't match the bullshit he was peddling. There was no plan to handle the logistical nightmare of providing supplies as simple as masks for 1st responders & put his son in law Kushner in charge for sourcing those supplies for which he was totally unqualified for that role.

Do you remember Snorkel? He & I heard about 1st Responders in Myrtle Beach, SC using masks for multiple days because they didn't have replacements & we did something for those 1st Responders. Simple masks weren't' available & our supply chain failed because of his failure to embrace business leaders during the crisis. Testing wasn't available for most of the country & in fact, he wanted testing to slow down to reduce the # of positive cases. He required a quid pro quo from  Governors begging for necessary supplies. Governors were forced to find their own supplies & make their own deals. He scheduled daily press conferences that made the situation worse with horrible advice & misinformation. He kept telling Americans the chance of contracting Covid was "very very low" which was total bullshit. His anti science approach added to the confusion & his lack of leadership was clearly evident during this period.

Biden took over with a well constructed plan to make testing & vaccinations available for everyone who wanted them. Deaths were at a record high when Biden took over & worked to restored trust which was critical during the pandemic. We got the good news & the bad news without all the bullshit. It's almost impossible to restore trust once it's lost. He slowly worked to reopen schools, businesses & travel while also ensuring safe work environments resulting in many jobs being conducted from the homes of the workforce. He utilized the Defense Production Act working with companies to manufacture respirators, masks & ventilators. He inspired small companies to help provide masks, gloves & scrubs for 1st Responders & others in the medical field. The supply chain was put in motion again & Governors didn't have to give away their 1st son to get federal assistance. He challenges the country to produce & rollout 100 million vaccinations during his first 100 days in office.

With the exception of N95 masks, what supply chain issues were there that can be blamed on Trump? I'll give you lack of N95 masks.

Testing was literally available to most of the country. I live in rural Oregon. Free testing was readily available. It was available in Washington state. It was available in Texas where my parents are. It was available in California. It was available in Georgia. These are the places I can speak for personally but I feel they represent a pretty good cross section of the country. The take home tests weren't immediately available because they hadn't been invented yet.

The chance of contracting covid is actually low. That is to say, the so called experts had us thinking you could get it from touching surfaces, that it was airborne, etc. That was bullshit. Common sense. If someone with covid sneezes on you, sure, you might get it. I've shared joints with people who end up with covid without getting it.

Biden never had a plan. The vaccine was rolled out under under Trump. Trump mobilized the pharmaceutical companies. Trump signed off on the funding. How are we crediting Biden with this? Biden, in the beginning, had some of the worst Covid death numbers. This is with the vaccine.

Biden worked to reopen schools, businesses, and travel thst probably should've never been closed. That Democrats pushed to close. Biden didn't have to do anything. The country had already started to stabilize under Trump. No hoarding toilet paper. A vaccine in place. Biden got roll in and say, "Welp, I guess we can open everything up." And what happened? Everyone got covid. Regardless of vaccination status. Literally every person I know got covid. The vaccine is a sensative subject so let's not dive too deeply into it but i'll just say that there is no measurable metric that points to the vaccine even being effective. Herd immunity is what beat covid. Or more specifically, it's what made covid endemic. Herd immunity is what beat the spanish flu but thst was also buried, probably by big pharma.

 One of the biggest fallacies perpetuated by the left is that anything could've been different. This thing came out of nowhere and punched us is the mouth. And we aren't the only first world country that suffered loss of life. No one had the answers. The so-called experts, that you say Trump undermined, that I would say he supported, they were pretty much all wrong.

Democrats wanted the country shut completely down. This was a huge mistake. Regardless of this, Trump made federal unemployment available, even thought it was exploited, and PPP loans that were pretty much all forgiven, even though they were exploited too. The vaccine was developed in record time due to US investment. Free testing was always available. Many people tested multiple times for the same sickness, which led to numbers skewed higher. Under Biden, people mostly tested at home, or just didn't test, which made numbers seem lower than they were. And Biden still had high death totals.

Probably weren't a ton of people from Wuhan, China coming into Denmark, right? It would be like saying Maine figured out covid. I'm sure Maine has low covid deaths too.
