Simply add the average price for each month up and compare it to each month from last year.
I guess math and economics is too hard for you.

“This basically sums it up. The Left is allergic to winning. They can’t stand that the country is doing great, they can’t stand that Trump is doing peace deals, they can’t stand that the border is shut down.”
I would add to it they do not like that gas prices and some of the consumer prices have actually come down. They would rather the country fail just so they would not have to give any credit to Trump at all.
It is a very weird mindset based around emotions and feelings instead of logic or reasoning of any kind.
“The truth is you need both. You need emotion for fire. You need logic for clarity and plan.”
One without the other will leave you in an awkward position.

"I see you trying to save face. You just do not want to admit prices are coming down."
In fairness there were two instances he conceded your original update. It was just folded in with other dissenting points.
This one seems the easiest to verify your numbers and other citations and tip the hat to Trump or at least that it happened on his watch.
Lot of technicals over my head hear, but it seems a clear example of they (opec in this instance) felt their oats with Biden and not so much with Trump. Whether that manifests as production, supply, price, etc there is a discerning difference between the two leaders and pump price.

The average price of gasoline in the United States has fallen to $2.98, hitting its lowest point since the pandemic-era low prices of 2020.
The national average gas price sits $0.152 lower than it did one year ago and $0.193 lower than just one month ago, according to a GasBuddy analysis. This follows the lowest Labor Day gas prices recorded since 2020 and falling gas prices heading into autumn.
“Gas prices have finally fallen below $3 per gallon nationally — the earliest date we’ve seen a $2.99 national average since 2020, when COVID was the primary driver of low prices,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in a statement. “Currently, 35 states have average gas prices below $2.99/gal.”

It is almost as if you do not pay attention to the comments and replies people make, you just spin your own narrative and ignore what anyone says that does not fit your partisan approach.
I do not care about national data, show me even ONCE where I referenced national data? I said the exact opposite MANY TIMES and yet you keep piping the same tired tune of national data and year over year, BOTH of these have absolutely nothing to do with my comment, my premise or ANY of my replies.
Its fine that you are focused on your partisan conclusions just stop replying to comments if you are not going to interact WITH the person you are replying to. You are having your own conversation and for some silly reason you click my name when you are not interacting with me.
All of my comments you completely ignore, I say them again you ignore again, I rephrase and restate to say the same things and make sure that is evident that my comments are precise, exact and specific...and yet you deflect from them and back to your own partisan TNC perspective.
Then you toss on the stinky DEMS comments and make the inane remark that DEMS dont want to admit blah blah blah, that has absolutely zero...zero to do with any of my comments. If you do not want to have a conversation with ME then quit replying to a comment I make and completely ignoring it just wandering along with your same replies that have no bearing to anything I said.

Yes. You have spun the narrative as if you did not even read the first post in the thread.
I never said you quoted national data. That is why I quoted your regional data to you.
Yes. You are so focused on your partisan narrative that you refuse to admit the prices are down.
All of the news and pundits and experts are all pointing it out. It is what it is. Now you can disagree about why. But to refuse to admit it is true is downright odd.
Yes. All of your comments state that the price is more expensive now than it was in January. This is so ill-informed it is funny.
Yes. You are a Democrat and you refuse to admit what every economist and and news sources and even politicians re saying is true.
If you want to have a conversation with me, do not twist my original comment about gas prices being lower into a convoluted mess about how they are higher in summer than they are in winter. That's delusional.
No one expected Trump and/or OPEC or state's to get prices in October to a lower price than they were in January.
THAT is why you do apt comparisons -- like month over month, or year over year.
You just want to argue an issue from a partisan viewpoint. Which is fine. Argue WHY prices are down; NOT that they are not down.
No knowledgeable person does this. Only someone that does not understand how these things are done or someone that just is upset that prices actually are trending down.

I would take that 7.5% that you have saved so far this year and put it in futures for oil to go up.
Maybe that will work out for you.
Always good to put your money where you think it will work best for you.

What the crap are you talking about? #84 and #85 have zero to do with anything I have said and please stop with the childish comments meant to make a dig, is that where you like to go in making insults to the intelligence of another who does not agree with you?
There is so much nonsense in your reply I dont know if it is even deserving of my time to reply. If you want to have discussion with someone and YOU engage with them it is a good idea to actually flow with what the other person is saying, you do the exact opposite. You try and break down a perspective by deflecting and use that deflection as a narrative for how many replies now?
I do not care about national averages or regional averages, I never challenged what those were outside saying that the PHX metro pricing is not my pricing, YOU referenced those I did not as they have NO basis for any comments I made, they mean nothing. I am not discussing regional or national data I am not refuting or discussing what national price levels are or percentages of difference because that has ZERO relevance to what I paid or what prices exist where I shop/consume. You brought those elements in as a deflection to my ONLY SINGLE CONTENTION, then you call what I paid as nonsense as if that means it didnt happen, you called the FACT that I have never paid lower than what I did in Jan 2025 as nonsense as if that makes what I said false. You brought in formulation deflections summer vs winter (I did not do that and in fact said the opposite) and then after YOU introduced deflection you try and use YOUR deflection against me...lol the humanity of your lies and deception are amusing. I actually said that the formulation differentials MIGHT make pricing different, might not depending on other factors. Ive lived here over 20 years and have gone through seasonal formulation changes, refinery and pipeline outages, real estate implosions and expansions which influence pricing Ive been here long enough to know exactly what influences pricing. My only comment about forumation was I could have been a total jerk and quoted you a price during Biden where I went to Pinal county which is 30 min away and got even LOWER prices then use that as ammo if I really wanted to be a jerk but nope I quoted what I paid at Costco in Jan 2025 and what I paid last week and several other times during the year.
Does it really hurt your feelings so much that some people have paid lower gas prices on the last few weeks of Biden's term than the entire Trump term to waste hours of your time trying to partisan circle spin over and over to protect your guy? Ive also said OPEC means no correlation between gas prices and who is the POTUS that my only issue is your dood made bombastic idiotic promises with his fat trap and did not meet those promises and for ME........prices have never been lower than the last fill under Biden.
There is nothing to retort or spin Raiders, national data regional data inflation reflections whatever else you can conjure up it means zero it means nothing to the singular point I made, you cannot refute it you cannot call it nonsense and you cannot deflect away from it, I paid less on the last week of Biden's term than I have for the entire Trump quagmire garbage dump term. There is zero to say and yet you will for some bizarre reason.
Make sure to throw in another insult or dig trying to elevate your superior intelligence and how I am lesser than you, that really seals the deal and proves you correct.

This was my post:
Update on energy. Everything is basically playing out as we forecast late last year and early this year.
Gas prices have been trending down a good bit. In fact, they have been lower every month since Trump got in office compared to every month of Biden’s last term.
Biden Trump
JAN - 3.075 3.076
FEB - 3.212 3.121
MAR - 3.426 3.096
APR - 3.611 3.171
MAY - 3.603 3.150
JUN - 3.455 3.150
JUL - 3.484 3.125
AUG - 3.389 3.133
SEP - 3.214 3.166
It would appear right now that the gas/oil prices will continue this down trend or flatten out some. Most folks are forecasting oil prices in 2026 to average slightly lower than 2025. Many reasons are behind this including no regional conflicts, OPEC forecasted increased supply, steady refinery operations. These are all, of course, sensitive to any flareups in the MENA region or refinery issues. But as long as oil is below 60 the gas should be below 2.90 or so, which is what the regression formula would show considering the spots right now.
This was your reply:
Problem with your congrats to Trump is he made promises that he did not keep, flippant day one nonsense and contradictory statements like lower gas prices
So, why reply with that? So, you are agreeing that prices are down from last year?
So, why reply that Trump did not keep that promise when it is true?
So, why reply about what you paid at your local spot and then swerve any sense of rational comparison?
I just do not see what sense it makes to take the conversation to some off-road that makes no sense.
If you want to just be partisan and try NOT to give Trump credit for it -- do that. But do not disagree with EVERYONE else that tracks it and reports it just to try to say the man is wrong.
It is so weird how you Leftists refuse to give any credit but rush to pile on blame.

This reminds me of a tennis match with human line callers where they were replaced by the hawkeye system...you want to call it in, but the system calls it out....you can't argue the call, but you want to smash your racquet to pieces....it's actually happened and not even replay can save you anymore....this has changed tennis forever...for the better, we don't know, but it has happened and thus we must deal with it....
