He knew what he was doing was wrong, but he loved the cash, power and fame. Anybody outside of law enforcement and military dont need to wear a bullet proof vest to work. Maybe he should have been a plumber or carpenter.

Were any of these kids you speak of forced to go to these outings or did they voluntarily go? I honestly knew nothing about Charlie prior to his assassination and all I saw was another human being that was senselessly murdered.  

Did the public ever receive confirmation that Charlie was indeed wearing a bullet proof vest on the day of his death?

I recall that it was only speculative, but I don't recall seeing actual confirmation. It is odd that a regular person would be wearing a bullet proof vest if you are not law enforcement or military, but if one was I assume it may be as a result of some imminent threat on his life. I mean, one could discount death threats made upon you, but to be safe if I had death threats made on me I might consider wearing one just to be safe. I also may choose to leave my house sparingly until the threats subsided. Tough call if your life is at stake.
