But your point about the ref seeing only Josh Allen’s back is the one who marks him short, where as the ref who could actually see the ball marked him for a first down. This alone is very upsetting to the fans who want to see the call made properly.
Had the over not the side in this one, but this was my problem right from the jump. How can the ref who couldn't see the ball at all from where he was positioned, only Allen's back through a see of defenders and offensive lineman, make the overriding determination. If he was being fair and impartial he has to admit to the other officials, he couldn't see it and defer to the one who could. How does this not happen? It's a travesty.
