Do you believe in the existence of Satan?

I wonder if people believe in the devil and why. This is going to sound like a weird question, but do the numbers 666 inexplicably ever pop up for people at weird times?

I could go on forever about this... its kind of disturbing but I have noticed a lot of weird things that are uncanny coincidences that I don't really want to get into.

I believe there is evil around but I don't necessarily believe that the their is just one devil.  The devil could be addiction to drugs or alcohol, murder, and crimes committed.  I mean that's where I think its more prevalent.

There's a book called "The Bible" that explains this fairly in depth.

anyone who dismisses the devil as fiction but believes in God is an atheist.  how can anyone deny the existence of the devil and believe in God anyway?

I can absolutely, positively confirm the existence of Satan.

She manifested herself in the form of my first wife and tormented
me for 5 years.  It was living hell and I have the scars to prove it.

I suppose I say that I don't necessarily believe in "The Devil" as in the character he is portrayed as in the Bible or what not. But I definitely believe in a supremely evil force that can infect people and cause them to do evil.

No it doesn't     I've read The Bill James Baseball Handbook 2010 edition and not once does he mention anything about the devil or evil or any of that type of shenanigans.

However he does talk about the Tampa Bay Devil Rays but they're now known as simply the Rays and they're not evil.

Hmmmm, I've only read the King James version, and the New International version.....I re-read the KJV in spanish the second time, Jonah and the whale turned out to be good friends!

 

I might have to check this one out to gain another perspective....do they have it dvd?

Yep. I hear ya. I had always thought my wife was Satan. Then I had the nasty displeasure of meeting her attorney Joan. I knew I was fucked when me and my lawyer showed up at her office and she had a huge protrait of herself and Hilary Clinton shaking hands.

The devil is used to justify the greatest of evils....even natural disasters as Pat Robertson preaches to millions on a regular basis...

Just take murder alone...

If it was ever proven that white murder through lynching and slavery, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Charles Manson, 9/11 hijackers, other unmentioned genocides on several continents, Tim McVeigh etc. etc. etc. chose to murder through pre-meditated thought without an external spiritual force convincing them to do so, people would go ballistic, live their lives in cowering fear, and would avoid contact (outside of responsibilities) with their fellow man for the most part.   

The sad fact is, humans ARE capable of such 'evils' as that is simply a subjective reference to describe their behavior. 

Humans have killed to survive and dominate for all of time.

Now, we just have the technology to do it on a large scale, and a mass media to take relay video, photos, and communal testimonials in great detail. This all heightens our awareness so we pass it off onto 'The Devil' to pacify ourselves and chase away our greatest fears.
