Cam Newton new allegations...

Does anyone know if these new problems could affect Auburn? I don't think they can since they happened at another school and they aren't exactly NCAA violations, or are they?

Can someone with more knowledge on this help me out here?

As an Auburn fan right now I am just praying that Auburn doesn't pay the price IF all this crap is true. I'm not completely convinced any of it is considering the timing.

I don't think it will amount to anything, want you need to worry about is the Iron Bowl when Alabama kicks Auburns ass.

I'm a UGA fan lol.  But regardless of the ass whipping Uga is getting this weekend, what if you guys run the table then get the ole 0-12 in a few years later because he was ineligible?  I don't think that will happen (UGA wins this weekend ) but after 2004 I would be pissed if I was an Auburn fan.

UF came out and said that he was on probation and was about the be expelled for academic cheating.

Yeah, that's exactly my concern. Good things are happening at Auburn without Cam Newton and once he's gone I want our wins to count.

Right, I know what happened but I'm curious what the ramifications, if any, could be to Auburn. I don't think anything but I just want someone who knows the actual rules to leave an intelligent response that doesn't say who Auburn will lose to in three weeks.

As an outsider, there has been too much garbage associated with Cam to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I can understand that. But he hasn't actually been accused of anything other than the incidents at UF. I won't condemn him until he has been proven guilty and I know I am in the minority with that statement.

Your wins will count. But the integrity of Cam Newton is being challenged. After last week the already started rumbling about what the Heisman trophy represents, and were making a point to call out Newton. One announcer even that he shouldnt even be allowed in the building for the ceremony, and that there was no was he was going to win after the allegations from last week. This is a bit extreme but this only hurts his chances even more. 1 tangible mess up and he's out of the running IMO. A loss might even do it.

Newton, a Heisman Trophy front-runner, is said to have been caught cheating three times, including putting his name on someone else's paper without that student's knowledge.

I couldn't care less about his Heisman to be honest. Granted, he is the best player in football right now and if he truly is innocent then he deserves to win. However, IF he is guilty then he should be removed from college football as a whole and "hung from the gallows" for disgracing College Football and Auburn University.

Yep, then he downloaded the same paper online by another author and tried to turn it in as his.

A school can't be penalized for having low academic standards. jk. Or they didn't know and in which case it's the same outcome.

lol, Thanks for the input and reassurance on my thoughts. And congrats on your win this past weekend. It was another great game SEC West game. Don't cheer too loud for Georgia this weekend. haha

Interesting timing for UF to release this.  Don't think it will effect Auburn, but just another smear on his heisman image.  Though his play is deserving, i think his chances are sinking fast.

Agreed, do you think they would have released this if he weren't in the Heisman race or if Auburn wasn't two wins away from the SEC championship game, likely against Florida?

Auburn will not go to National Championship this year cause they will lose to Alabama.

This is exactly what this 'journalist' wanted.  UF hasn't come out and said anything.

Thamel, who is writing hit piece after hit piece going after Newton, cites a single unnamed source that claims he cheated at UF multiple times.

This writer is the same one last week who immediately wrote a piece urging no one to vote for Newton for Heisman.

This guy obviously has an agenda.

The timing of all these 'releases' is highly questionable.  This is obviously a smear campaign looking to inflict maximum damage on his heisman run and Auburn's bcs opportunity in the most crucial stretch of the season, with games against uga, bama, and possibly uf coming up.

absolutely they can! Academic progress rate...

a lot of schools are not at full scholarship level due to this rule.
