Hmmm, this +10900 Lotto ticket keeps looking better and better.
Gauff is the female equivalent of Alcaraz - has the skills to beat anyone - but is way too inconsistent not just from game to game but also within a game - She almost always make a “Holger” as I like to call it where she gets one or two breaks behind and has to fight her way back - almost like the comeback part is more important for them than winning - I think in a few years the other rising stars : Mirra, Tauson etc will beat Gauff pretty consistently

Osaka has played very well (so it isn’t related to that my answer) but you should ignore her match with Sevastova - Sevastova has arguably been the most swingy player ever to have played in WTA - and she has seen better days let’s say it like that

@Calde13
Did Tauson tweak her serve, start working with a new service coach, or something like that this year?
Or is it more about being fully healthy and gaining confidence?

Tauson is one of the most “misunderstood “ players on tour - She has basically had the top level to beat everyone since entering the WTA tour - but her early years was filled with injuries, money problems and confidence problems - September last year she got her boyfriend as coach - and he took her mental game from 0 to 8 - she also mention him every interview in Danish and how important he is for her mental game - and when she had that under control she has now begun winning versus big name players - which nullifies her confidence problems - I am not in doubt at all she will be the most winning Danish player ever - not that she has much competition (basically only Wozniacki and Rune) - but skill wise she is up there with Sabalenka etc - it is basically only the mental side that hold her back

Didn't expect it to be that much of a blowout. Osaka is really starting to heat up.

Yesterday Tauson also “played for” her grandad who passed away during her match versus Swiatek - I wasn’t aware that was a thing but stuff like that can also sometimes be what makes the difference - like when mothers find superhuman strengths when defending their kids which has been proven to be a thing - No offense to the remaining players - but I think pretty much all value is in Tauson winning this tournament

If you are implying she shouldn't be favorite versus the field - then you are correct - but I can get her at +440 to win the tournament - and I would take that every day of the week - might I remind you there is none left except Mboko she hasn't beaten (and that is just because they haven't met) And of course Osaka was injuried when they played - But it is almost a joke by now how often the market undervalue her - and she has beaten some pretty big names the last 3 months without even breaking a sweat (in most of them) - so you should come up with some damn good arguments for me changing my opinion

Let's hope Rybakina cannot deal with the smoke.
