I feel like 20.5 points is a lot for a shield challenge. Canterbury were really good last week but Tasman was equally poor the best attack they could muster was 1 out from the ruck, no wide ball no enterprise. That made it really easy for Canterbury's already good defense.
I like Otago with the big start they will be up for this. How bout you T2?

I was when one says " where are the cappers on this forum"
It's your fault mate...keep your records.. nothing will happen..unless you have changed and shown you are here to
..be nice to others too.. or are you ready to help others..
Or give others here why do you like your pick.. that's how you can help others on this forum..
Remember few weeks ago I had said pumas +9.5 free money vs lions.. the reason I had said that's was lions B team..that's how you must try to help others here..

Mitre 10 cup lines are out already and a couple stand out.
Auckland still getting to much credit I had this game vs Waikato at evens. It is a tough week for Auckland on three days rest before playing this game, this will follow another 3 days rest before playing North Harbour on Sunday. I expect some player rotation in both these games which could mean more players on debut for Auckland. This will probably be the last time the bookies overestimate Auckland.
The other game that caught my eye was Manawatu. I think Otago is the better team but this could be a good let down spot for them after the big shield challenge effort.
Hawks bay is terrible Canturbury will destroy them.
some of your thoughts i cant agree.. remember last week allblacks -29.5 vs ausi ( allbalcks win by 6), canterbury -20.5 vs otago ( canterbury won by 4), auckland -16.5 ( auck won by 2)
i still feel hbay +17.5 home not bad.. otago win home 1.80..bop home +6.5, taranaki home win 1.50, soutland home +8.5 @1.50 and auckland home win 1.50..
these are my leans and not final. i may changed.. see how..
NRL THIS WEEK
cowboy must win game home +4.5 and mel -9.5 coz canberra gone and dont care this game.. manly must win home @1.70, westigers -4.5 must be free money and finally newcastle home win @3.50coz sharks dont have to win..

Right folks, not going to hear much from me this week because I've taken the morning to decide my play for the week and I'm not even going to try work out how many units I'm going to put on. Lining myself up for a serious egg on my face but I'll try talk through my reasoning as best as possible.
Sharks -12.5 one of my biggest plays in a long time.
I would've personally handicapped this game at around -8.5 if the Cheetahs played the same team they did last weekend. The sharks have looked top notch in the last few weeks and beat a very good team last week in Western Province. It took me a bit of time to work out who could potentially play for the Cheetahs this weekend so if you take the 56 players in their Currie Cup squad on their website and take away the 28 players going on tour and the couple in the Springbok set up you are left with a bunch of supersport challenge guys who got beaten 26-0 vs a weak Province team in the Semi's and some youngsters. The only assumption I am making is that the Sharks won't rest half their team and being a top of the table clash I doubt (I will be praying every night that they don't) that will happen. I think when the lineups are announced we will see a handicap of around -22.5 and I think even that won't be enough, this handicap should be upwards of 30 imo. This is essentially a Cheetahs 3rd team with the amount of players missing. Admittedly I also took -15.5 earlier today when wsb came out with their caps first because I thought that was a gift, if any Bookies go lower than 12.5 I might mortgage my house.
this was great idea and now too late.. sharks now -26.5

I have been watching Hawksbay play and they have been so bad. Not just defense and attack structure but discipline has been poor, handling has been poor, tactics poor, they have a poor kicking game which results in poor territory game.
They can play other teams like this but if they play Canterbury in the same fashion their mistakes will be punished. In both their first two games Hawks bay had no ball in the first halves. If you give Canterbury that much possession there is just no way they can hold on.

Also massive player rotation for Auckland with 3 games in 7 or 8 days. 5 players on Debut and 6 players with less than 2 caps im not sure they win this.....

Weather looks OK tomorrow for the Mitre cup Strong Wellington squad tomorrow despite Savea being rested - few youngster for BoP in the starting 15 - I m hoping for an open game and I think Wellington will look for the bonus try point
Wellington -5.5 @1.85 Wellington over 3.5 tries @1.72 Wellington over 29.5 points @1.86 Over 52.5 points @1.75
Also, a combination Rugby League + Rugby Union
North Queensland Cowboys vs Brisbane Broncos Bay of Plenty vs Wellington
Broncos + Wellington @2.12
NOTE.. these are few thoughts from some southafrican guys .. i have not decided yet..
@R3V3R3NT, great hit for waikato game mate..well done
