 Bad mojo surrounds this game possibly why most of the thread feels a horrible team like the lions may cover.

Lions are still a shit bum team with or without Matt Millen.  Their defense is horrible, and the Bears have shown the ability to at least move the ball on offense.  No Tommie Harris in the middle would normally hurt, except for the fact that the Lions will not take advantage of that.

You have to understand, when you bet on the Lions you are betting on the worst team in the NFL...actually, I take that back...You are betting on the worse team in Proffesional sports. There is no team that is worse then this one...STL, MIA, KC, ATL, OAK all teams better the Detroit. Dont look at the 0-3 record and think "Oh, these guys are do...These guys should be able to pull this off"...LOL, No...These guys are absolutely terrible.
 
Look, when a team has NO offensive and NO deffensive Line and basically invested there last 5 years 1st round picks on WR's (-Roy/CJ) and a QB (Harrington) who arent with the team anymore, you can not invest in something like this...
 
Trust me on this one. This line will be at 5 before game time just like the San Fran game.

Ill take CHI.  Orton has found this position called the tight end and he finally has a little confidence.  I like their vanilla offense to exploit a DET O that cant get it together.  Vanilla...running game leading to play action etc will get the fundamentally retarded DET D in trouble.

Forget the points. If the Lions lose then it's by atleast a TD (probably more then that).
I think they win SU though. Lions ML +160. Hopefully better in the morning

Although at times the Lions can score like crazy I have a feeling this will go under. Not sure yet but I might just put a small play on the under at 44.5.

This Coaching staff of the Lions are coaching the last of their games.  Benching Smith is an absoulute joke, he has all the experience in the Zone Scheme the Lions are trying to run.
 
 
 
man!  i have to give HUGE props for this post... here is someone who knows football... put me and PocketJacks in charge of the Lions and i guarantee this team is no worse than .500... way too much talent for this team to be the joke they have been so far...
 
Kevin Smith is an absolute monster of a running back... seriously... there are maybe 5 guys in football who have his instincts and hit the hole the way he did... when i saw that they had benched him it was just one more thing that made me wonder how the hell Millen ever kept his job as long as he did, or how Marinelli has a job at all...
 
look out for this guy in the future... if the Lions don't recognize greatness when they see it, someone else out there will...
 
honestly, every time i watch this guy (including at UCF last year), it reminds me of Walter Payton...

Bears vs. Lions +3.5 (3 units) - the Lions are due here, they played well in the preseason and are coming off of their bye week.  Chicago had a great upset win last Sunday night so I'll be selling high on them.  Getting the hook here was a key factor because the Lions typically play better home ball.  Rudi Johnson will get the start here, his first of the season.  After firing Matt Millen the new management will want to start off with a win.  The public has been all over the Bears and Sports Insights has them at about 74%.  This should be a low scoring divisional rivalry, Lions 20 Bears 17.

I still see that the Lions are 3-2 ATS at home vs. the Bears in the past 5 years.  You wanna go beyond that into the Barry Sanders era to show that they have their number?  By all means, go right ahead.

Here bigdaddy......lemme help you pull the trigger on the under.......I know shorty likes trends so let me thro sum atcha.....Bears Under is 11-2 in last 13 in October.....and for Detroit Under is 13-3 in last 16 as a dog..........only bad news on that is that one of the 3 that went over outa the last 16 was this year when they were a dog @home against the Packers and they blew the over/under outa the water............I'm on the under in this one with ya tho!...............I'll take the under at 45.5 for 1 unit please........put some sprinkles on that too........thank you!

Oh yeah, baby. I like this kind of party, oh yeah, we can go at this all day long. Here's what I came up with. 4-2 ats in the last 6 home games against the Bears, and a perfect 3-0 in the last three overall when playing the Bears regardless of the venue. Now you're good, but again, you are not telling it all. And no Barry Sanders was not there for any of these covers.

The Lions have won the last TWO home games ATS vs. the Bears.  I said they went 3-2 ATS in the last 5 games, which they did...just because I didn't go back to 2002 to add it up to 4-2 doesn't mean I am wrong.  I still don't think that adds up to the Lions having the Bears number.
 
The Chiefs have the Broncos number at Arrowhead
 
The Colts have the Texans number SU.
 
4-2 ATS and 2-0 ATS in the last two years doesn't yet qualify.
