In Reichstag fire, Nazi party falsely blames political enemies for fire at German parliament.  Deceptions such as manufacturing a crisis is used to gain power.  Trump uses similar playbook as Hitler  Rioters who attack capitol are falsely praised as heroes.  Before election, he exaggerates crime, immigration and inflation as crises.  Democrats are blamed and lose election.  After election, he purges opposition by falsely claiming emergency powers to fire government employees.

Interesting article yesterday I read from NBC News that stated that before Trump touted the drug Leucovorin for autism that families had already tried it with positive results.

Some doctor's had already been prescribing the drug to cancer patients. The drug is a synthetic form of B9 or folate, which the body needs to make healthy blood cells. During pregnancy, folate is important to reduce the risks of birth defects. A doctor in the field of behavioral child neurologist who studied the drug and autism for two decades said that the drug is not a cure but he does prescribe it to autism patients. 

The FDA approved this drug back in the 80's to help reduce the toxic side effects of certain chemotherapy drugs. Sample groups are small, but its estimated that 3/4 of autistic children have antibodies to cerebral folate deficiencies.

The article goes on to say good things about the drug and how some families have seen positive results with improved speech.

Kind of amazing that there is some hope for people who may have kids with autism and are struggling. If taking it during pregnancy can help make healthy blood cells which is necessary in healthy babies, then that sounds amazing. The B vitamin is critical in many aspects of our daily life, so if this could help even one kid just a little that is pretty awesome. It's not a cure, but it may provide hope.

This is the key issue.

Republicans in Congress are OK with hurting many millions of American citizens.

Dems are not OK with that.

And to protect them they are willing to withhold their votes to reopen the government.

 Mtg is wrong.  The only reason premiums are increasing is because the freebie handouts from the Federal government are being reduced/eliminated.

Those people that have been getting premiums on the discount should be sending the rest of us a THANK YOU card.  It's like these people expect to get handouts... F them.

""We"" are all getting screwed to the tune of $36T in debt.  And here You are acting like there will never be any consequences for all of  our out of control spending in federal government,  and subsidies is just another layer contributing to this manure pile. 

You sound pretty selfish,  as if to say "it won't affect me",   I'll already be dead." 

Problem is that US has the most unaffordable healthcare in the world with millions of Americans under insured.  Obamacare is better than the old system but other countries have better universal systems with the rich subsidizing the poor.  Universal system can only exist if some people pay more so that others pay less.  Better to fund system by income tax instead of mandatory buying of insurance with Obamacare subsidies every year.  Unfortunately, US is limited to Obamacare the most politically feasible.
