[Der Führer of the MAGA Reich] has promised a “Peace Agreement” to end the war in Ukraine following his summit in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin, dropping his demand for a ceasefire
and sparking fears [the asshole-in-the-Oval] is moving closer to Putin’s position.
*Would carving up Ukraine and granting large portions to Russia as a reward to appease the aggressor/RAPIST (Putin) be worthy of winning the Nobel Peace Prize for the sex-offender/convicted felon?

American Nazis: The Aryan Freedom Network is riding high thanks to Trump
Reuters -
Several trends have converged since Trump’s re-election, Reuters found. Trump’s rhetoric has galvanized a new wave of far-right activists, fueling growth in white supremacist ranks. Trump’s pardons of January 6 rioters and a shift in federal law enforcement’s focus toward immigration have also led many on the far right to believe that federal investigations into white nationalists are no longer a priority.
And the boundaries of the far right itself are shifting. Ideas once confined to fringe groups like the Proud Boys — who helped lead the January 6 siege — are now more visible in Republican politics, from election denialism to rhetoric portraying immigrants as “invaders.”
Trump’s public support and pardons for far-right figures helped normalize those views, the researchers said.

In letter to congress, over 180 employees of FEMA warn that Trump administration is putting cost cutting above protecting people during disasters. This follows similar letters from CDC, EPA, NASA, National institute of health and National science foundation. All warning that Trump has made U.S. worse.

Being in a hurricane prone area South Floridians are well versed & in most cases, prepared for a storm. Many have portable generators & their hurricane crate of flashlights, batteries, first aid kit etc. Those who are in a flood zone can easily stay at a shelter although the security there is sketchy.
However, those who have never been in a hurricane don't respect Mother Nature & they become a real pain in the ass for 1st Responders.
As far as governmental help provided by FEMA, I wish kc was still positing because he could tell you about people on the west coast of Florida who got devastated by Hurricane Helene & are still homeless or living in temporary housing waiting to settle with insurance companies or are chasing the scumbag insurance companies that went out of business. I certainly wouldn't expect FEMA or any state agency to react quickly after a bad storm. Now with the reduction in FEMA personnel & funding, you would be a fool to count on assistance from them.

Der Fuhrer tells GOP to cut Democrats out of funding bill
WASHINGTON — A standoff over how to prevent a government shutdown intensified Monday as President Donald Trump called on Republicans to write a funding bill on their own and cut Democrats out of the process.
But any funding bill, including a stopgap to buy more time, requires 60 votes to pass the Senate, where Republicans need at least seven Democratic votes.
